Is there nothing in that email that even remotely excites you with regards to prospects for 2017?

Usual GH guff but what else is he supposed to say?

Interesting they still have no way of funding the stadium re-development aside from somebody funding it for him e.g. Leeds council

Depends who wins the ten grand. Be entertaining if someone on here bagged it. Some more entertaining than others.

Quote: Frosties. "Happy New year from everyone at the Rhinos and thanks for your continued support as we all look forward to the year ahead.

2017 Prospects

I am really confident with our prospects to challenge for all three major titles. We have a very experienced squad of players who are desperate to be successful. Some of our players like Danny McGuire, Rob Burrow and Jamie Jones Buchanan who have achieved so much are inevitably nearing the end of their illustrious careers and, like Sinfield, Peacock and Leuluai before them, are determined to be remembered as winners. And this desire is infectious amongst all the other players and staff who are just as determined to make their own mark. Hooker, Matt Parcell is a key signing for us [sizeand we have an almost new player with Stevie Wards return to fitness[/size. Both will feature in a full strength team to take on Jamie Peacock’s Hull KR in Ryan Halls testimonial game on Friday 20th January. Tickets for that game are available to buy online click here.

Very Best Wishes,

Gary Hetherington
CEO'"

I'm sure I've heard that somewhere before icon_rolleyes.gif

I do like how it's "JAMIE PEACOCK's HKR" and not Tim Sheens' HKR.

They have no way of funding all of it, but can fund part of it.

No rugby league club in the world could self -finance a £30m stadium development without any external or special funding arrangements. It's amazing that Leeds can and have financed about £20m of the RL side's total redevelopment themselves even without the enabling property development. But feel free to throw your predictable, context-free jibes.

Very impressive if true.

Do you or does any other poster happen to know anyone who works for the council that could reassure some of our older and more easily confused members?

Sal's very concerned that if "Evil Gary" gets his way, that Leeds school kids won't have any books, old folks will have to live the remainder of their lives in hospitals and our homeless won't have anywhere to get food & a warm bed.

Either that or he's trolling. My money's on the latter because surely, no one's that stupid?

My point is simply this you cannot have a situation whereby the council is helping to financially support a commercial business when its cutting services elsewhere. Even some of the more i81otic posters on here can see that.

Let's be honest how much additional revenue does having 4/5 days of test cricket a year bring into the city? its only full for 3 of those days when the Aussies play here which is once every four years.
