Yes I apologise, every player Leeds have out is a high calibre star yet wakey missing their starting full back and hooker and other starting 17 players can’t possibly compare to that quality.

Joking and sarcasm aside - I was responding to the comment that Wakey only had the one player out. This unfortunately isn’t the case. Though of the 5 out I would only have 4 on the 17. I believe we have better SR options than Pitts despite him usually getting the nod to start.

And I think most boards have diverse personalities that come out in most threads. Pessimists, optimists, confident, cautious etc. It makes reading these forums (and oppositions) slightly entertaining atleast.

It’s all relative though in reality. Out of the strongest teams both would likely field both are missing a handful. I think this has given Wakey the edge on paper in the backs but Leeds have the edge in the forwards. On paper that’s the way I see it.

This may be the case on squad numbers but some players choose their own squad numbers some out of sentimentality. Added to that I believe that all 17 players actually play in the game so why not include all 17 unless of course it supports your own arguement.

The fact is that out of those 5 missing that 4 we’re regulars last season in the 17 for trinity with the other getting the 1 shirt.

I would expect 4 of them to be playing if fit and there’s 4 with squad numbers 1-17 out missing. I don’t get this squad numbers argument though.

Hampshire has squad number 29 for example which I think is choice of the player and was ever present in 2020 for trinity yet your happy to discount him in your figures due to his squad number yet in contrast include Walker who played a lot fewer games last season for Leeds and a position in which Myler seems to be the best player at full back anyway.

It’s just flawed manipulating figures like that imho.

It doesn’t support any ‘argument’ but outside backs are not as interchangeable as forwards so usually the squad number is very relevant, you tend to have more depth in the forwards hence Leeds backs looking decimated. Missing Walker, Hurrell, Newman, Handley, Lui (hopefully not Gale) is to me more significant than Wakeys loses but there again it’s early days and hopefully their misfortune can be others gain ie Broadbent.

Will be a forward battle this time of year, unless Wakey decide to throw it about a bit as we do have a pretty scarey pack now.....

Of course it’s more significant to you as a Leeds fan the Leeds players missing so you can appreciate how the same applies to wakey fans. I don’t get to see Leeds players week in week out and likewise for you and wakey players. For me though Jowitt is the biggest loss for us. He was exceptional in the close to 2021 when we picked up our wins.

Anyway as you say it’s another players chance to shine and it’s round 1 so who knows how this will go.



That may have applied more if the season had started in February but less so as we enter April. That said the weather looks to have a chance of showers. That would play into Leeds favour as they have the edge in the forwards.
