| Anyone reckon there could be legs in Sam Burgess making a miracle recovery and doing a season?
Pics of him out with JP and Morley last night. I know they are pals, but stranger things have happened.

| Think it’s one reason we’re not desperate to fill the marquee, to give him a chance to get fit. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Sam in a Leeds shirt later this season.

| Unless the 350k a year 10 year contract is BS. Why would he risk his financial and physical long term future?

Could end up with egg on my face here but I don't believe there is anyway Burgess will get back on a rugby field at any kind of decent level.
The docs opinions I have seen all say his shoulder is totally flucked. That doesn't get fixed by a few months off.
Frankly I don't get the facination with him either. Great player but busted. Suspect Souths would have something to say of he popped up in a Leeds shirt as well.

| Souths have their salary cap dispensation, I can’t see them bothered about Burgess making a Super League comeback if his shoulder is able to recover enough in time.

| Leeds front runners for Tony Gigot according to league express. Agar did say last week ideally he’d like to bring two more faces in. It does provide experienced cover in the whole of the backs, but whether it’s needed with Briscoe, Evans, Hall, Broadbent, Sutcliffe and Stephens available to cover remains to be seen. Could also look at the fact of moving Newman to wing, L Sutcliffe to centre or Handley to full back if needed.

| Gigot is a million miles better than the other options we have, but I suspect he’d not be happy at not starting each week. Some of the kids are good prospects but a long way from ready for SL even as cover.
Evans and Gigot doesn’t make sense though, if Gigot is coming surely Evans isn’t needed?

| They will just jump into the reserves side, Gigot would be a good pick up for cover, but I suspect he will command quite a wage and without injuries I can’t see him getting into the team.

| Burgess was told by docs he needed 12 months complete rest of his shoulder, then reco surgery that would have around a 10 month recovery - hence why Souths retired him, as his contract would end after 2 years anyway.
There ain’t no way he’s back, plus think the NRL would block it anyway

| For me I hope Burgess stays retired just for his long term health. He's had an incredible career, nothing to prove and made decent money at the same time.
What's the point in causing even more problems to his body to just to play for a couple of years well after his peak!
