| Quote: TrinityIHC "No one that is, apart from Lonergan, O'Dea, Brown, Keogh and Rachubka.
Also we've got Nunez and Kisnorbo which is like another 2 new players if you like, as they weren't around last year. Lees looks like he's gonna be a solid player at this level, Clayton is again like a new signing - looking class so far this year as well. So all in all i'm not too worried.'"
Yeah in my annoyance at another quality player leaving I've probably been a bit over harsh...but then two of those players are on loan, two are goalies (I didn't include Kasper deliberately as I was thinking about our outfield players)
You're right about some of the players improving but I think our squad depth has taken a serious step backwards.
Quote: TrinityIHC "I'm not in the Bates out camp just yet, but now he has to get his hand in his pocket and get us a replacement for Gradel - in fact he should have put his hand in his pocket and given Gradel the wages required to keep him. But still, I think Nunez will do a job there, but we could do with another midfielder in case of injuries.'"
Won't happen - we'll probably get someone else in on loan or Nunez will be the replacement for Gradel

| If Snodgrass goes, then Howson will be the only (regularly available) decent player at the club.
Bates can't die soon enough.

| no problem with gradel going. he was in his last year and he didn't want to be at leeds.
however the manager won't get a penny to spend. it will all go to a shady monaco bank account

Sorry Bats. Just that I must have read it incorrectly. I thought you said Howson and the word decent in the same sentence.

He's not gonna be all upset and sad at signing for a new club is he? 'Just signed for a club, getting more money, gutted'
If we lose Snodgrass I'll start to worry. We'll probably sign Forssell now Paynter and Grella have gone.

No he's not going to be sad, and best of luck to him at his new club. It's just that I've never seen a picture of anyone looking *quite* that happy...
Anyway. His wages will see another 20 empty rooms paid for at the Beeston Ritz, and not too far to wire the transfer money from St.Etienne to Monaco.

| Howson is a decent player, but is surrounded by dross, hence at times he doesn't look as good as he is. He is a strong tackler, good passer, has good vision and has a good engine. He also has a lot of passion for the club, which is an underrated aspect these days.
He would hold his own in the Prem, but isn't about to bother the England selectors, hence the choice of word, "decent".

With only half an hour left to the transfer deadline it's looking (touch wood) like Snodgrass is staying...good job or we might be looking at a relegation fight

I think we're looking at a relegation fight with or without him. Trust me if a decent enough bid had come in for Snodgrass he'd have gone but I don't think anyone tried to buy him. Teams that were linked to him like Stoke and Fulham have been too busy trying to bring better players in. Its ok saying these players who couldn't get a look in last season are like new signings but others teams will have players like that but will have strengthened there teams bringing in new signings too!

Relegation fight? Not a chance, we've got a good nucleus of a side that can compete in the division, Gradel isn't really that much of a loss as I think Nunez can come in and do a similar job.
We've played some great stuff this year and as long as we stick to that and Grayson doesn't bottle it too soon, we should be in for a decent year.
Keep the faith MOT.

| I think if I had £20 burning a hole in my pocket I would sooner go for a bet on relegation than top six TBH.
What are the odds on both of these ?
