Yeah, I thought it legal too. FWIW I thought Litten was possibly in two minds over whether to move the ball on. If so, that moment of hesitancy was costly as he set himself up almost. Hope he's back in his stride quickly, never enjoyable seeing a young player take one like that.

| When do we know if Austin has been cited for the late push on Gale? Fingers crossed we escape without sanction.

| Any news on Mustapha's injury? He had to be helped off at Dewsbury and had an icepack on his knee. He was due for assessment by Leeds this week.

| Patella injuries can take time to clear up (speaking from personal experience). Glad it's not an ACL or anything as major as that.

| Still a PITA for this to happen when Holroyd is out at the same time. We’re into Donno at prop now if we get another injury?

| I was going to ask about McConnell. I thought he'd signed permanently for Fev?

He has bur we are loaning players from Fev and Dewsbury to make up a reserve team. Gill, Walker and Loui are 3 loanees.

I think this was always the plan between Leeds & Fev and comes under the DR umbrella rather than loan. Works for both teams, Leeds get a bit of (relative) experience to help alongside the youngsters and Fev get game time for some fringe players. Loui is probably 3 or 4 injuries away from getting a game for Fev at the moment and Gill has plenty in front of him as well.

It was but i remember seeing postings of listings of reserve teams full of Mylers, Briscoes, Sutcliffes etc lol. Was never gonna happen.

| The old A Teams were never full of players who were just outside the first 13 either. They were made up of Colts players, the odd triallist, players returning from injury and a core of older players who were clearly not up to first team but could fill a gap if required. IMO it filled a useful gap for older Colts players to get practice against senior pros. There were always players who bypassed it and went straight from Colts to first team, but that route is getting harder.
My issue with dropping reserve grade was that it wasn't replaced with an organised pathway to the first team. The gap between junior and first grade is probably bigger than ever, and we need to make sure there's a bridge for Academy players. We also need to be able to not just bin anyone who isn't quite first team ready at 18/19 (in Australia very few teenagers debut, most are 20/21).
I'd have had no problem with Dual Reg and loans if it was systematic, which I don't think it really can be without franchising. Instead when you look across the league its been chaos as afar as I can tell.
