Do you mean he'll leave if it's one particular coach or that he's trying to appoint the coach himself (I assume the former but I read it as the latter initially!)

If we sign Withers then I really will be convinced that the ground developements have now taken presidence over the team building.We have had our glory years,now we have to wait for 10 years?

Chase is a bad move. He's not a team player. Bet your bottom dollar that he'd have kicked up a fuss had he been used as impact from the bench as Burrow/McGuire have in recent weeks.

The guy, as good as he is, is trouble. I'm hoping we stay well clear thanks.

Lincoln Withers.... I'm with Lionarmour. This new stand must be REALLY important to GH.

I would think that, given that the current stand is falling down, the new one is incredibly important to the long-term viability of the club. Whether it actually impacts on recruitment remains to be seen, but it is important to invest in this kind of thing.

If this means we're the Arsenal of Super League for a year or two, but remain solvent and financially viable in the long term, I can live with that.

all i know is that chases agent called one of the coaches rumoured to be going there, and openly told him that he was appointed Chase would stay at cas.

i don't like how someone could just roll over like that. The club have made good coin from it's supporters in recent years. It would be nothing short of disgusting if the club even intimate our cap spend/squad strength will have to take a hit to get a new stand built. Just my opinion.

I'm not saying that is what's happening. My only point is that I'd rather the books balanced and the new stand doesn't over-stretch the club. If there's enough in the coffers to do that and spend the full cap, then that's grand.

The good coin made from supporters in recent years has gone to invest in the stadium and pay off the debts of the past. Whilst Leeds are in good financial health and are probably the best off RL club in the Northern hemisphere in terms of finances, there isn't a bottomless pit to just find money from.

I agree with El Diablo, if the new stand does affect the first team squad then that's the price we pay for having a financially stable club. However, I highly doubt we will be spending any less on the first team squad in the next few years than we have in the last few years.

What we're basically saying is that the new SS NEEDED doing, no choice. H&S and all that.

That needs paying for somehow, and singing Richard Moore instead of Paul Gallen (a.n.other "superstar"icon_wink.gif is one of the ways of doing that.

A lack of investment in the playing squad will surely impact on the finances of the club going forward.

Austerity Leeds (on the field) will be an interesting experiment. I actually prefer having plenty of space around me while stood on the terraces. It'll be nice to get back to those days.
