| Still so many empty seats. It's gonna be worse when all those new expensive seats are open too. The Carnegie seats will be barely a third full!

But this argument is also stale and has been trotted out for so many years now, only for Brian Mac to make his critics eat their words by his achievements.

No they had 8 out but they had just signed a new pivot who made a big contribution to their win. But you know that already don't you so why say 9?

8/9 does it matter? Still a great result and performance. Could you see us beating wire at the Halliwell jones at this time? Not a chance for me, and i'd be happy if we didn't get humped by 30 plus.

| I know I don't see all the Rhino's games but it does seem as if its mostly the young players that try to gee the team up when its going wrong (which has been most of the time of late) I noticed Goulding, Ward, and even young Cam Smith tryingto urge the team on while the senior players seem resigned to their fate.

| Almost the only difference between this year and 2016 is that we got a few wins early. Otherwise its the same - injuries, hopeless play, more injuries, hopeless performance, keep picking injured players, rinse and repeat.
BM did a great job last year and 2015. But he was as poor as the team in 2016, and this year looks like a carbon copy. The ONE thing he admitted to doing wrong in 2016 was picking injured players and then seeing them both play badly and get injured again, and yet he's doing exactly the same this year.
My problem is we look a mess on the field. A boring, slow mess. Forget 'unstructured', we look like half the time we've no idea who's supposed to be doing what. Just like 2016.
Some of our senior players need to take a long hard look at themselves as well. I remember in 2003-ish tvoc bagged Francis Cummins, saying he was 'stealing a living', which I remember thinking was a bit harsh. IMO that charge could and perhaps should be levelled at some of our more experienced players.

The 33 years old full back who has never played SL before? Second choice at Toronto? Leeds could have had him, you are missing a 'pivot'.
McDermott is not going anywhere; I think he has great strengths as a manager, but you need a world class, experienced, half back (sorry, pivot) who can actually coach structured & attacking rugby. You currently resemble a team coached by a plodding prop forward.

Rhinos fans have been spoilt, why moan about the odd year when the games don't go to our script.'"
What he said.
It won't always smell of roses. Remember the fall out after the thumping by Cas et al last year -- but we ended up winning the GF - CLASSIC Southstander.
If you can't take the rough with the smooth - perhaps its time to give up following the sport for good.

Do you actually know anything about Leeds history? I ask this due to that last comment. You obviously haven't been watching the club long, and this is the problem with this board and the many social media outlets, there is too many bandwagoners putting their two penneth in that have nothing to go on but what has happened since 2004, or in some cases even less.
For your information, we have had many a rough ride, and a long time without the smooth. Those of us that gone through all that are perfectly within our rights to have an opinion, that doesn't involve references to fickle fans, when it is clear that the only fickle fans are those that have jumped on the success bandwagon.
I put on aonother thread. I have been a season ticket holder since 1978, I was a bandwagoner like the many on here at the time, having gone to my first match in the Challenge cup final that year. I went through however, the majority of the 32 year wait for Leeds to be champions through my time supporting. So the fact I comment based after winning now, shows I have been through that dry period, and comment knowing what it is like.
First and foremost for me was I loved the game, it was the best sport out there. I played the game, signing professional as a sixteen year old, when through the injuries that many do, and had to quit playing. Then went into coaching and scouting, purely because the game was what I wanted. The last few years of our sport in this country have continually gone down hill and down hill. The game is on it's last legs. The level of coaching in this country is at it's lowest ever. and the game as suffered.
I have continued going purely because of a family socical. Previous with grandad and dad, then with dad alone, then my own kids along to be with their dad and grandad. And because of that I have maintained it. But the game is depressing now, and you have to look for other outlets to continue the family thing. The kids are getting bored at the game, my son finished playing himself last season, and looks at this Leeds team and just see's it for what it is. At Fridays game, forgetting me, there were many families and kids were saying to parents can we go now, and this was 15 minutes before the end. This club is going to suffer because people will not keep paying for inferior product.
I for one will not be getting my season ticket next year, which will include five. I will probably still go to some games, but will forget the season ticket, unless changes are made at the club, and I have to be fair the game as a whole aswell. I have been a season ticket holder for this now my 40th season, my dad and uncle with us, for far longer than that, my daughter for 15 years, and son for 12 years. That is a lot of years supporting this club, having taken the rough with the smooth. The sides over the last three years though for me are the worst we have had through my time. We have had worse for a short period, i.e. one season, but then we act on it. This is the worst In terms of quality I have seen for an extended period.
I very much doubt I will be in a minority for not renewing next season, I can see a big chunk of supporters going the same way.

All fair enough, I think if you aren't enjoying your past times its time for a change and Its easy to tell from the tone of your posts that you've lost some love for the game.
I will say there is one thing that has been a constant in my 35 years of watching Rugby League and that's fans saying the game is going to the wall and on it's last legs! RL fans whiclt being on the whole a great bunch of people we are a right bunch of moaners.
Personally I think the highest quality of RL I've seen was the 2000s I think SL was exceptional especially the early to mid 2000s, however I attend far more games than I ever did then. I think you will be in the minority of people not renewing, unless you seriously think half the members will suddenly not renew.

I completely agree with your first comment, although can say late 80's early 90's threw up some great games. But 2005 I have always said it, was the best side I have ever seen, and we lost both finals that year. That was some team. Not necessarily the best individuals throughout my time watching, but the best rugby I have seen. And the competition was much better then.
With regards the minority thing, I wasn’t meaning in comparison to those who have season tickets. I was purely meaning it wouldn’t be a minor number that would not be renewing. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see 10-15% of current season ticket holders not taking up the option next year.

I think the new stand may have a factor in retaining ticket holders, when is the North Stand due to be completed?

| This is an interesting debate, I think the club are dealing with the perfect storm at the moment regarding attendances.
1. Season tickets sales are down on last year, and a lot of that has to do with long time regulars being turfed out of the North/South stand and using that as the excuse/trigger to not renew
2. The reduced capacity seems to have given the impression that its difficult/impossible to get tickets this year, and this is keeping people away. Not sure this is the case in reality, capacity is well below last years average but it has been reached only once this season (Wigan)
3. There is an element of disillusionment in some quarters about both the quality of the rugby/form, and the nature of the temporary facilities. Lots of people seem to be missing each week which may impact on renewals next year if they break the habit of turning up
The club will have some serious work to do selling the wonderful new facilities to win everyone back, especially if the team continue to struggle. I dont think they will have any problem attracting bigger corporate numbers than ever, so financially they will be fine, but the core season ticket base might take some building back up.
