| Just finished editing last night's game and no surprise that yet again the first half timed at 51:40 (from Sky focussing on Child to start of ads break) second half 51:28 (from kick-off to just after Watkins miss at goal)
As Leeds are literally always on the box at present to illustrate -
Hull 51:40 and 51:28
St Helens 49:54 and 48:00
Wakefield 50:49 and 52:09
Wigan 51:19 and 48:28
Hull (CC-BBC) 51:55 and 51:04
Wigan 48:50 and 46:31

| It is the downside of video refs. I would rather have one than not. However, I do feel that is a decision cannot be made within 3 attempts of looking at it then the ref's decision should stand. Problem is there are more angles than ever to watch the incident from than ever and that will add yet more time/complexity to the decision making.

| The video ref decisions in the NRL are now made very quick. The 4th and 5th replay is going to look rather similar to the 1st and 2nd, make a decision.
Refs and video refs also face less criticism and scrutiny from both the media and supporters, maybe there is a link.

I've certainly noticed that as well. It's certainly something that Red Hall should learn from, but won't.
The thing is, the video referee could be a fantastic marketing tool if used correctly - on some decisions it can create incredible suspense and really add to the drama of the occasion.
But watching somebody scroll a frame backwards and forwards for the sixth time to try and find an innocuous obstruction decision that nobody else in the ground can see isn't suspense, it's tedious.
