Quote: FLYINGPROP "Watch the tackle back and the messing about by Ablett when Wardle on the floor (as bad as Leroy's at least) and you might understand why Wardle ted the t055p0t but oh no a Leeds player wouldn't be owt but squeaky clean would they.

Both McGuire and Wardle should have seen red if that's the rules regarding striking out, Ablett had one thing in mind in trying to get his team a man advantage cos nothing else was working for the Rhinos to be fair, Wardle will learn from it and come back an even better player for it.'"

Level of bitterness even in victory set to: Extraordinary. Well done.

Ablett was extremely fortunate that Delaney was on hand to save him from further punishment. There's nowt wrong with an occasional bit of biff, but after that public humiliation, I fully expect Ablett to be wearing a big girl's blouse in the next match.

Even Bailey would have managed a retaliatory swing...... probably.

Quote: fez1 "Ablett set up Wardle.
Wardle was too stupid or wound up to recognise this.
It sort of backfired though as Hudds really dug in with 12.'"

Truth in three sentences (above).

Ablett didn't have to do anything, showed remarkable discipline, niggled (part of the game), got the reaction, hoped for a penalty but struck gold when Wardle displayed all the attributes of a Sunday pub team thug, his surprise at seeing the red card tells you everything about the Big Daft Lad theory - most of them haven't even read the rules.

Paul Andersons comments after the match also displayed the heritage of the BDL Club ...

[i“I’ve not looked at it but, if he’s punched him, he’s probably got what he deserves. I’m happy for him. It’s a real defining moment in Joe Wardle’s career.

“People go out and niggle and he’s stood up to it. I’m not happy with the sending-off but he’s grown up a bit today.”
[/i
rl]

This is a wonderful parable to pass on to parents wishing to send their children to their local amateur club to partake of a hobby that will get them running around a bit and teach them about fitness, teamwork, the ethos of winning and losing well - and the fact that if someone niggles you, your BDL coach will tell you that its a great thing to react as a thug, character defining, every time someone niggles you in real life you should hit them in the face as often as you can, yep, live life by the Paul Anderson code everyone for only by following this BDL code can we find the happiness that Anderson found yesterday, we need more of these dinosaurs in our game, no really.

He's a centre.

Brian McDermott must have been next in line with his

Goes a little way to explaining why he thinks overplaying some forwards while underplaying others in his match-day seventeen is the way to go. He mentions defence there but Huddersfield's twelve men won the mini match within the match on the scoreboard too.

Only a matter of time before McDermott takes a player off and doesn't bother sending another player on to replace him.

Your avatar suits you (chicken),
Wardle must have been really wound up in that tackle as I have never seen him react like that before. And your comments are rich coming from a supporter of a team that contains a certain Bailey.

You just don't get it do you, I'd try and explain the principle and the purpose of winding up opposition BDL's but like them, it would probably not be apparent to you.

Bitterness in victory is slightly above bitterness in defeat.

Just stating facts that a Giants player sent off for the same offence a Leeds player stated on the field for, seeing it happen week after week gets a bit galling TBH.

On this occasion as in Catalans justice was done and the best team won.

Or you could read it another way- if he punched him he deserved to be sent off and hes happy that a 21 year old playing in his second full season in SL has learnt a lesson about his behaviour in those situations...

Ablett - Sponsored by Pampers, reminded me of Fielden in many ways when Mason exposed the myth by dropping him.

In fact in the replay Ablett moves towards Wardle in a similar way, outcome, Ablett gets what I have been waiting for, a lesson in those who do and those who pretend.

PS

Before anyway says anything I support Leeds, just don't like some of Abletts attributes as a player.

Don't be silly, reactive tackle going high is very different to throwing punches in bunches.
