I am sure I fall into your category - but you see you look back and go they did it once let's keep then forever - too many sacred cows - but you are entitled to your opinion. I personally think you have your head in the sand and are incapable of seeing what goes on in front of your eyes and incapable of comprehending anything beyond the simple.
This is a great team that is now in terminal decline. I would like to see this decline cease or at the very least see a point to it i.e. building for the future. You on the other hand want to continue with the same side because they won the GF two years ago.
I ask you this - how is this side with the nucleus of older players who aren't going to improve and compete with the best sides in this league. You want to keep the same half backs - no other top side in either the NRL or SL play with 3 half backs the game is too quick. As I said you are stuck in a rut incapable of seeing the obvious.

Sorry mate. No head in the sand here? I already said changes were needed. Right in the middle of our mini run against sl also rans. I thought what many of you think! I just realised that what happend against wire was just around the corner so didn't go off at the deep end when it did happen.
So the clams you make about what I think about the team are totally in your head and unfounded.
The "anything beyond the simple" snide jibe is just pathetic and very bitchy which even though my comments wernt at anyone specific fits the acting like a bunch of women statement perfectly.

Again you post total fooking bull $hit! Pulled out of thin air
I have stated many times in the last few weeks before the wire second half collapse I would like to see a good few move on and the kids be blooded.
So you telling me what I want just makes you look foolish to those I had a discussion with last week about losing a good few from the squad.
at any time feel free to say you are wrong and we can just let it lie.

As I said you are incapable of comprehending what goes on in front of your eyes - let's be charitable are you short sighted?
I will explain - you want to retain all three half backs - that means Leeds cannot change the way they attack and accomodate all three. I am saying there isn't a side in the elite game that plays with three half backs - the game is too fast a physical now to play the way Leeds play and have played since 2003.
Sinfield was in the YEP last week saying he wants to play 6 - so that could explain McDermott's strange decision to play McGuire at 7 - it begs the question who picks the side?
As I said it should be about evolution not stagnation or even worse regression

What are you talking about? I think you have the wrong poster. When you are ready to say you are wrong we can just drop it and move on. You have clearly made a mistake about who has posted what.

Oops looks like you've let your true colours slip there SP. The problem with you is for whatever reason you don't like Sinfield and will take whatever opportunity to knock him, question his place in the team, etc.
IMO the problem lays squarely in the fact that the pack we are fielding week in week out is not giving us a platform to let the halfbacks & Sinfield do the job they are on the field to do. Whether this is down to a reluctance by the coaching staff / management to embrace the "wrestling" techniques required in the modern game, a lack of ability in the current players to carry out these techniques or somewhere in between.
Again IMO, I feel that this is the area which needs the greatest shake up next year. There could conceivably be a high turnover of players in the pack next year (IIRC Kirke, Bailey, Burgess, Kylie all OOC, Buderus rumoured to be leaving, Cross' face appearing not to fit - that's 6 players who have all had significant game time this year potentially not being here), added to the fact that we could also be losing 2 of our most experienced backs in Webb and Senior. If this is the case then the last thing I would want to be doing is asking a new half back partnership to come in and try to be successful.
In regards to McDermott, ideally he would be given a chance to succeed with his own squad and players that he has had a hand in recruiting, however, taking into account some of the decisions he has made this year, I am not convinced that I would be comfortable with him being responsible for the number of changes which require making.

I have never once questioned Sinfield's place on the side - just his influence - for me 3 out ever six plays going through him is too much and all teams have to do is pressure him and the attack cannot function. This would be OK is it were Benji Marshall - but it isn't. More variety is required and a half with a serious kicking game is a must.
If we had a more robust pack that would help for sure but it will not sort the attack which is pedestrian and predictable at best. The game has moved on since this worked - you either change the way you attack - something that is impossible with the current set up or you change the personnel.
As for changes - if the team sees 2/3 I will be amazed - GH will not sign new players when he can resign cheaper existing players.

| With the way Leeds play, ie a halfback on each side of the pitch, isn't it inevitable that one of them will see the ball on 3 tackles out of 6?
The only alternative would be to sling it from side to side, which given the number of metres our pack makes would be suicide. Oh hang on a minute...

It may be me being optimistic, however, I can see a number of changes being made. IMO if you are making wholesale changes then I wouldn't want to be throwing new halfbacks into the middle of this. I would concentrate on sorting the pack and threequarters while you still have McGuire, Burrow and Sinfield, then in 2-3 years when these three need replacing the new halfbacks are coming into a settled side and will have much more chance to succeed.
