Tried a different route down which worked very well. Turn off M1 at Jct 21, on M69/A46 to Warwick Parkway station (on bye pass) 2 hours 15 minutes from Harrogate. Train every 20 mins direct to Wembley Stadium station (1 hour 30 mins) In pub for 12.30 Saved all the busy bottom half of M1

Back in pub in Harrogate at 9.30 easy peasy

Apart from the result, I enjoyed a great day out with my 7 year old son, on his 1st Wembley trip.

His highlight of the day was beating me 3-2 at Top Trumps on the train home!!

My planned morning coffee rendezvous evaporated, so instead, I went to have a quick look at what used to be the Admiralty building (my old flat) in the depths of Eastern London ... It's still there.

Spent most of the rest of the morning guiding some very off course Loiners in the general direction of North West London.

The train back was somewhat entertaining .... The train in front of us was stopped at Peterborough whilst the police went onboard to sort out the hassle. In case you're wondering, that one was going to HULL ...

My train got a bit further up before someone pulled 'the chain' and caused an emergency stop, which stuck us in the middle of nowhere for a good 10 minutes whilst the train staff sorted that out.

We had a great weekend, and on the things we did in London, saved loads of money.
Got the train down Fri lunch, and checked into the Hilton to be given a free upgrade. Out into Covent garden to have a nice meal then see a fantastic show. Back to the hotel.
Sat....a swim and steam room before breakfast, then breakfast before meeting family and friends in baker street. Tube to the match, wasted two or three hours watching some rubbish, then back to Baker street to discuss said rubbish over two or three pints.

Wandered to China town where we had a nice meal, then back to the hotel.

Sunday.... breakfast, then Madame Tussards, (2 for 1). Then hotfooted it over to London Dungeons, (free!) and we both really enjoyed both attractions. Back to the area of our hotel, and stopped in a real locals pub for a couple of drinks, before changing and going for a lovely Italian meal, (half price!)
Today, a swim and sauna, leisurely breakfast, then met some friends who brought us back upto Leeds, stopping at Bray on the way for a late lunch.

Oh dear Tad. I topped off the day by going to visit my friend for his birthday in Fulham. His girlfriend's friends were armwrestling, I had a go with one of them and her arm snapped above the elbow. Cue ambulance and me feeling about 20 times worse than any Leeds performance could ever make me feel!

I had a bloody brilliant day, I don't think Lawrie L did though!

One the way to the game he was pulled to one side in the services and accused of stealing by the manager. He didn't have any stolen goods at all, but that was all we needed to torture him before the game.

Then, coming out of the ground, he projectile vommited in my face, covering me from head to toe. This added to the humiliation he suffered on the way down meant that he got severly tortured all the way home.

The funniest thing...was his excuse for being sick. He said "I had a cheese toastie this morning, but the cheese didn't melt on the bread, I think the cheese was off and it made me sick". Of course, this is utter nonsense, he had had 5 bottles of budweiser and 2 shots of Jager and couldn't handle his drink properly evidently.

He was basically a member of the inbetweeners for the day.

My mam , an aunt , and an uncle left HQ around 8:30 . They were on the last coach to leave HQ . We left at 7:05 and my cousin and her mates were 30 miles in front of us .
Well done to the crew that sorted out the travel . Must have been a really long day for them .

Loved it from start to finish (barring the non performance).

Started with a poorly organized National Express service 1 min they were loading at stand 1 the next the inevitable scrum as they switched stands icon_lol.gif

Ending up on the Northbound side of the services after taking a detour and being told that Leeds were good but they were no Middlesborough. (what an interesting match that would be) and listening how there were no WMC's in Bournemouth for our smoggie chums to enjoy there pints of mild and pork scratchings. good times.

Getting to park right up against the stadium instead of that huge coach park then wandering round to soak in the atmosphere at the head of Wembley way passing a very drunk looking rabble on the righthand side on of them is a prominent cumbrian member of this board.

Standing at the head of Wembley way and a bloke dressed as cruella de ville tries to kiss my dad on the lips HI-LAR-IOUS!!

Thought the stadium and its facilities were excellent, the view even from the back of the stand was amazing and singing abide with me and the national anthem did leave me with a little tear in my eye. Sang my heart out most of the game and stood right at the back after the family behind us fecked off early, so drank in Warringtons deserved victory in near complete silence. Watched Warrington lift the cup and clapped the boys off. Cheeky burger and back on the non stop coach back to Leeds, got back at 8.50pm went home and had a can of strongbow.

Met a load of characters and other supporters that i usually wouldnt have the chance to meet and would reccommend it to anyone.
