He does a job and is reliable enough for sure and from fb can find a pass at times though as a collective the spine has little dynamism and where it does ie Dwyer it’s undone by being erratic.

Quote: ploinerrhino "Two reasons you won were we are crap ball in hand and the ref allowed you to leave hands on the ball in the ruck the first twenty five mins'"

There is truth in that. I actually thought we were very poor tonight. Only area of our game I was happy with was goal line defence. However, playing the referee is a part of the game in itself. You try to get away with as much as you can. If you put hands on the ball and get away with it then you keep doing that.

Quote: Big Jim Slade "Whilst all that's true it didn't help that every time we played the ball within your ten (and it was a lot in the second half) all your players were offside and the ref didn't blow for it once. As poor as we were I have a real issue with the ref not binning a single Hull player despite relentless cynical fouling in the second half. I'm not sure anyone on the pitch in any coloured comes out with much credit tonight.'"

They could have had 2 binned and we still would have struggled to score.

Full back certainly gets the best of out of his footballing ability (shame he can't do it half) but as an all round number one he lacks real pace and power. Disagree on your take on Gale, but guess bottom line is we are not winning so the only real half back in the side will cop some flack.

And the new ball steal rule is dire and needs to go, although prior seems to be doing a good job with the new rule for me as a spectacle making the game worse

Quote: Big Jim Slade "It is sour grapes, absolutely. It's also true. That level of persistent foul play needs to be properly punished, it wasn't.

The fact that we'd have probably still struggled to score if you were down to 12 is neither here nor there.'"

As I just said in another post. It's professional sport. You push the limits as far as you can. I'd argue Leeds have been the masters of this in the past.

We did do a bit of spoiling for sure. Sometimes we got penalised, sometimes we got away with it. Fact of the matter is that you weren't good enough to break us down despite a huge amount of field position and possession. Shifting some of the blame onto the referee doesn't do anything to solve your main issue.

Leeds were never the masters of that , Leeds have always wanted a quick ruck and the best games to watch were always Leeds v Saints as both sides played like that and produced great entertainment .
I would also argue if the ref had policed the hands on the ball in the ruck you would never have got out of your half in the first 40 mins either

Similar to Phil Clarke’s predictionometer, unfortunately it’ll stay still the end of the year at least regardless of its value.

Totally agree. Bigger question is: was any coach, player or spectator even consulted before the rule was implemented?

The game was given to you last week with a duff call and you’ve got the nerve to blame the ref this week lol

Alternate argument could be the number of times in previous seasons nonsensical penalties given for 'reefing' ( is that really a word) .Surely there needs to be an emphasis on player in possession retaining the ball? Seem to manage it in RU

Where do we go from this? We’ve clearly relied on the injuries excuse but as more and more come back we don’t seem to see any improvement at all, shocking tonight with the amount of attacking sets we failed to come up with anything

I get the frustrations ad it's clear we lack quality in the backs. We've had no luck but bad luck past year though.
Lost our best forward and leader to early retirement. Our best back to 2 years of injury hell.
Injuries to nearly all our key players this year.
Season a write off unless we at least blood our young talent. It's clear a big clear out will happen end of year......
