Is there a chance Merrin could go mid season?

I think there will always be that risk from now on but can’t see any NRL club paying him anywhere near what he wants

That's my thought with having Walters, Trout and Muzzi waiting for a chance do we need another backrower unless he's very good.

I’d be a bit surprised if he went mid season, it would need someone to shift something from their cap (injury or retirement, etc.) and it might not be at a club he fancies (Titans for example).

Why would there be cap space then if not now.Plus surely if he comes back he should stay for the full season.

This is great news about Merrin. He will almost definitely stay the full year and while there is obviously a money aspect to this the fact that him coming back to Leeds it not seen as hugely negative means he should be fairly happy to be back.

Leeds have also come out of this looking well as they did the right thing by Merrin.

I think it's been pretty clear for a while Ferres will be retained- coaches must see something fans don't. When he's been fit, he's played. On top of that, he's deputised as skipper a few times. Granted nothing official yet but I'd be very surprised if he wasn't retained.

I also think Ferres will be there too, I just don’t see the point.
