| Quote: Loyal Leeds Fan "Time for a new voice and fresh ideas. Someone needs to come in and instil some structure into this team. But unfortunately our long term problems run much deeper than simply the head coach. Our recruitment needs to improve dramatically for next season, and our academy production line seems to be coming to a grinding halt. Tough decisions need to be made regarding some of the current squad as well.'"
I agree on every point, barring the notion that anyone could instil structure into this lot. We seem not to have one player capable of anticipating the gap that needs plugging. Forget their leadership, both Sinfield and Peacock used to frequently make the tackle that snuffed out an attack before it even began. We have no-one with that knack. Throw in a lack of commitment and zero communication and I don't see anything with which a coach could work.
This isn't a plea to retain McDermott, I just think we've reached a point where it no longer matters anymore.

| Right now instead of just blowing up answer me this, who can we actually bring in? even till the end of the year
1- Brian noble- over my dead body
2- Iesten harris-
3- Kevin Sinfield as temporary coach- sounds good but it didnt work out too well for Shearer at Newcastle and I cant think of many more examples
4- Paul Rowley-the best option but we dont know if he has sorted out whatever the reason he left Leigh was- also he didnt do too well in the middle 8s last year
The big fear is we get stuck with someone just because they happend to be available

| I said elsewhere, Keinhorst apart there wasn't a single player in that Leeds 17 that I would genuinely be disappointed to see leave the club.
So many who are either on the way down from their peak or are never going to be good enough for a club with ambition to win things.

We need to look to bringing in an Aussie for me, someone who knows little about the squad and starts with a clean slate.getting someone in now would givr them half a season to stamp their ideas on the squad, which clearly is crying out for a fresh regime imo.

Brian Smith. Rocket up their arrses and a guy who can actually structure and coach. Then put him in a exec/recruitment role at the end of the season having identified a coach for 2017.
Of course this would involve GH giving up some of his power so is unlikely at best.

Danny Mcguire, Rob Burrow, JJB- Id hate to see any of them leave after a season like this
Also we have some real quality players who might do well under someone else- especially someone like Powell
Hardaker, Watkins, Cuthbertson, even Sutcliffe Singleton and Lilly who have all shown that they can play really well when the rest of the team is doing better

Some decent coaches currently working as assistants in the NRL who might fancy a high profile job like Leeds, and would come in with a fresh set of eyes and no previous relationship with the players - John Cartwright, Michael Potter, Wayne Collins, Dean Young, maybe even Danny Buderus.

Not sure about that, Smith seems a real ar$e based on what has been said about him at Wakefield, I also would hate to see leeds abandon its offloading free-flowing philosophy for the robot-rugby
Also I would much rather have GH than Smith as our exec, wanna compare their trophies/ achievements?

Sentiment can't come into it in my opinion. We need to do what's best for the club going forward. Burrow's looked lively on occasions this year in offence, but having to hide him in defence is playing havoc with our defensive structure. Particularly when we've got Lilley, Sutcliffe, McGuire, hell even Achurch, often all on the pitch at the same time who you'd say were fairly weak in terms of their defence.

Possible, but the danger of some of these aussie coaches is they want teams to play like robots
After all we complained last year about how boring Wigan were compared to us, would you want us to play the same way?
Buderus is the best shout so far though, though he lacks experience, you might be better asking Kev

Someone prepared to come in, prick some egos and remind a few players they're not as good as they think they are is exactly what this squad needs. If they don't like it, they know where the door is.

If we want players to stick with us when things are going good, we cant bin them when things are going bad
Get rid of these players and whatever is left of the culture goes and any future Ryan Halls will be out the door the second an NRL team comes calling

I didn't mean chief exec, just some sort of exec role. Smith has better contacts in Aus than Gary could ever hope to have, no matter how many business class 'recruitment trips' he treats himself to.
