Based on the video evidence I'd have given the McGuire 'try' as the ball didn't clearly hit the floor first, IMO. When it's simultaneous in frame by frame advance that's much too close to rule against the attacking side - where we have 'benefit of doubt' as an option. It looked like Alibert was of the same mind initially before he had it changed for him.
I like having the video referee but sometimes it makes a mockery of the non televised games where such a score would almost certainly have been awarded.

In other news I'd have initially ruled the Richards involvement in the Hoffman try a 'knock on' right up until the final angle from behind the sticks which showed it was a deliberate knock back and play on.
The pass from Carmont to Richards (for once) I'm in agreement with the Sky commentary team.
