| Not sure what to make of this.
On one hand the guy has done enough for Leeds as a player to get plenty of credits.
I always thought it was a gamble giving him the DOR gig at Leeds in which he made some good signings but also gave contracts out to his mates and made some bad signings admittedly at the start of his role.
The fact Leeds have spent big on new recruits is something I believe Kev engineered and maybe without him we wouldn`t have got these players.
Was he taking the club forward?
Possibly but would he have done it without the financial backing?
Has he used Leeds as a stepping stone to further his career?
Possibly not as he has gone from the Boardroom to the playing field.
In the end he has taken the decision to earn himself more money for a coaching role and maybe one day we will see him sat alongside the England RU coach.
On another note does Sinfield still own that club/bar near Oldham?

It was his brother Ian that owned that bar and he got rid quite a few years ago.

I'm talking with respect to ducking out of the last two games. We have a big squad and nothing to loose. Didn't sound like Kev was impressed with this in his parting statement......

Well apart from guaranteeing a pair of losses which would doom our chances of getting in the play offs

We ain't getting into the playoffs, don't worry about that. Would have been an opportunity to look at some young players again....

| Just watched the press conference. He seemed emotional and why wouldn't he be? Takes courage to admit when something is not for you and especially when you have such a link with the place. On a personal note my mum and dad (both in their 80's) didn't renew their season tickets this year because getting up and down steps was a bit too much. They did send the club a small contribution because they wanted to put something in the coffers, they still love the club. Anyway the phone rings a couple of days later and Kev is on the line. Chatted to both of them for half an hour. Can't tell you how delighted they were. Mark of the man. Hope he does great at Leicester.

| The two games are different so why are the RFU taking RL people to coach their players ? More should be said about this in the media . Leicester fans are all celebrating, are they admitting RL is more attractive, more competitive skillful than their game ? Do they want to turn their game into 80% RL and call it RU or Ragby as they call it ?

| For a hundred years league took union's best we didnt think union was better than league so why think union think differently?
They are 2 totally different sports with different objectives but with similarities also. Lwague is a sport of possession and Union is a gane of territory. We have 6 tackles they potentially have 1.

This is quite outdated now. League is all about position and territory. Watch the chess game that is the NRL, it's all about kicking and position before you try and attack. In Union teams like Bristol now attack from their own line and are happy to keep the ball in their own 22 for multiple phases. Exeter built their success on dominating possession.

Cheers Marty.
I had heard Kevin put a bit of money into to it this coming from someone who went to school with his brother.
Didn`t the likes of Paul Scholes frequent it looking for "company"?
Anyway going too far off the subject here.
End of the day Kev has gone for the money and the opportunity to hone his playing skills into coaching and progressing his career elsewhere.

| I'm sorry to see him go but sincerely wish him the best in the future.
His role as DOR has been more contentious than as a player but I believe he has done a good job and got us back on the right track, got to keep the momentum going now

| Hope it works out really well for him. Never the faintest chance he could match his playing achievements in any other role whilst at Leeds
