Nor would I .... But I WOULD swap Kirke for a packet of custard creams.
Indifferent about Ellis ... Way past his peak when / if he joins Leeds.

Ellis replacing Ellis from when he left?
Not really a position that we are weak in and hopefully hauraki or kirke may move on? Probably hauraki. However he still in a quality player swapping Ellis with hauraki would only improve the team. Cannot see sinfield moving back to lock if we sign Ellis though.

Agreed. But i did say that in my post.

Unlike some on here who have apparently unrestricted access to bank accounts and personnel files from the club, I can only speculate. But I'd be willing to bet Ellis would be considerably more expensive than Hauraki.

Again I wouldn't know but I guess your right, I was meaning more in terms of the amount of players we have rather than the money issue

| TBH if Ellis comes back, we could offload Kirke and Hauraki for a start. We'd still have JJB, Ablett, Delaney, Clarkson and Pitts for the back row on top of Ellis, never mind any younger players knocking on the door. TBH even if we don't sign Ellis I'm still of a view that we have too many 'filler' forwards around.

I think we do have quite a few filler forwards. The problem is that forwards pick up injuries and need rests. Its always useful to have a big squad as it allows rotation and promotes competition.
I think the problem most people have with Kirke isn't his ability, its the fact that he was for the most of last season a first 17 member. This is different this season, but it seems like its fashionable to bash him, even when he's not playing

If he is deserving his place (kirke) throught his performances in training then fair enough. Like the above Post I don't really have a problem with him being in the squad. He does frustrate slightly in that he has all the physical attributes. And I wasn't massively impressed with him playing every week, but he is useful to have in the squad

This is probably correct. However, what a shame from the coach that even tonight he drops an inform and trying to impress Pitts for the lum of wood that is Kirke.
Filling in when injuries arise or to rest someone playing lots of game time is one thing, but getting preference to a better prospect is poor form.
