I would have Johnson on the bench for this one. He can cover hooker and halves and if we are in the contest after 50/60 minutes he could cause Cats some problems. O'Connor gets through a ton of D so might be useful to rest him - plus his passing wasn't good enough last time out (although usually I think he's been better than Leeming)...

I'd prefer to see us either not select Newman for this one or have him play the 80, don't think having a centre on the bench against Cas helped us at all. If he needs game time reserves are there for that.

Tough game this but I just want to see a professional and determined effort where we're going to make it hard for Cats. If it were me I'd agree with other posters and bring Tindall in for Olpherts too. Fusitua, McDonald, Newman and Tindall actually has some strike to it.

I'm not so keen on bringing players back for spells in the first team either. If they're not fully fit they should get there in the reserves first. Otherwise you carry an odd player on the bench just to rotate someone in a position where they should play 80 minutes.

Fancy us to bounce back after a disappointing performance last week and win this. Cats unbeaten have not lost at headingley since 2019, their winning start has to end soon, don’t see why not tomorrow.

St Helens were popped up and Wakey are garbage , so are Cas though , so that does not make our form very good at all

The Warrington score tonight puts our performance last week in perspective. Smith has some big decisions this week -
- do we risk Newman for 80 mins / reserve hooker on the bench / do we stick with our halfbacks / time for Tindall return / is an unfit Simone worth a place on the bench / how do you beat a top 6 team with no line speed in d - the list goes on .

NNeed to get Rhyse Martin a lot more involved ,granted he is a great goalkicker but for me doesn't get involved enough in games

It’s raining and a bit windy, I wonder how Teflon hands will get on today? I do wonder how many catastrophic mistakes he has to make before someone else gets a chance, he’s been directly responsible for tries and no tries at the wrong end of the field for us.

Let's hope for none and a hat trick. Probably only fair to point out that Nene also tends to chuck in a big error on a weekly basis, although this is balanced with his excellent attacking play.
