That statement in itself is surely an admittance of him not being capable of the level needed.

Maybe so, but if the right person isn’t available at the moment sacking him now will not help.
Were 3 games into a season and we’ve had a poor start, win our next 3 and the table and prospects for the season look different.
Even the next 2 could make a big difference

| I admire your optimism Christopher all ifs and buts, will see you in 3 weeks then.
One thing I will add though is he needs to shut up going on about 'Leeds DNA' it's like some desperate grab on to the past in the hope that it'll inspire his troops. Let it go and let the team create their own.

It’s not optimism is pragmatism.
It’s a long season, we’ve been great in one game, terrible in another and disappointing in the last, we might stumble along at the bottom half all season we might go on a run and end up in the top 2, my point is that this early in the season is not the right time to be sacking anyone and neither is it the time to be predicting where teams will finish.
I think it’s all the years of our fans wanting Mcdermott sacked (even when he’d just joined) make me roll my eyes at these inevitable threads after a few losses.

| I've always been very pragmatic and never once contributed to the mcdermott out message through all those years and was very much the opposite of that. But all context considered this time I feel Agar needs to go as soon as viably possible. Wouldn't mind seeing ward til the end of the year.

I just don’t think Ward coming in would achieve anything especially if its a short term thing
The only way id want Agar gone so early in the season is if there’s unrest in the cano like there was with Furner

| If the plan is to move Agar upstairs at the end of the year we have to trust that GH and Agar are progressing. Agar still has some credit in the bank with me, but I do think he his guilty of at least a couple of comfort blanket selections: 1) Dywer - despite memorably referring to his crisp packet passing he still can't resist throwing him on to "add some spark." Enough of that, pick young Johnson and be done with it. 2) Briscoe - I know he still does some of the good things he did as a winger, but that doesn't make him a centre. He should be dropped from the first team and moved on at the end of the season. His days as a top class player are gone. If he continues to stick with these two I'll fast lose confidence in him.

| I understand the whole 'its only 3 games' thing, but this just feels like a repeat of last year with different injuries. We'll no doubt have a mini-revival and tonk some poor sides at some stage, but to come into a new season looking so undercoached is not good enough.
I don't like knee-jerk sacking of coaches, and I think Agar will see out the rest of the season. I don't think he should be coach next year though. I worry that we'll hang on for too long again as we did with McDermott. There's also a risk we'll mess up like we did with Furner, but if we avoid ex-players and aim for up-and-coming NRL coaches there's actually a reasonable pool to choose from.
When it gets to the point that nothing the coach says or does makes little or no difference to performances its time to move on. Agar seems like a very honest and decent man, but that does not make him a top flight coach. Lam was similar at Wigan and got similar results in the end.

And Wigan did exactly the right thing with Lam, no knee jerk, they put in a plan and it seems to be working.

| Agar out? When someone who can really move us forward is available to come in, yes. Out now because we’ve looked crap the last two games, no.

But that's a different question.
Is Agar getting the best out of the players at his disposal, and have we shown progress? No.
For me, the way to go would be bringing in a highly rated assistant from the NRL, who is innovative and can move us on, who needs to use us as a stepping stone for 2/3 seasons to get a head coaching gig in the NRL, and then be nurturing an internal successor during that time who works under him.

Yes but the club seems passive, the way the situation is communicated, the language is very passive. They should be actively seeking the right replacement now. We don't know the inner workings, so maybe they are, but it really doesn't smell like it.

It’s integral to the question of Agar ‘out’ because someone has to come ‘in’
Kneejerking now will not help the team at this stage, i agree with your general point but it needs to be planned not kneejerked in.
We have twenty odd rounds left a lot can happen

But the situation we've put ourselves in requires a lengthy winning run to claw back ground lost, which we simply aren't capable of. For example, we win the next 3, but then lose the game after that, win 2, but then lose again. That's arbitrary but very representative of what we can expect. After that it's 5 wins from 10, and, approaching halfway you're looking at mid-table with that.

| I rarely post on here, usually just browse the usual suspects playing message board tennis, we need rid asap.
Its not just the defeats its the manner of the defeats, clueless in attack, indisciplined and lightweight, been the same for ages, he's just not up to the job of taking Leeds where they need to be
