SMTM said he had a deal to be done this week with a Leeds player, didn’t say whether it was a retention or anything though.

I’ve heard from a reliable source that someone from Leeds is going to York. Which kinda matches up to SMTM. Wonder who it is as they’ve been offered McClelland a few times and have said no. Guess we’ll see tomorrow

| Its all well and good people having a dig at Myler, there are far worse players in our shirt conning a wage right now I can guarantee you. Just how many other coaches were approached before Furner is what I'd like to know, 1 other and Furner I bet, if that. Getting rid of BMcD Is the single, biggest glaring foul up Hetherington has ever done. Period.

| Why? Are you suggesting we weren't heading downwards fast when he was let go? The squad hasn't responded to anybody else since, but BM's job had become completely untenable because he was presiding over our second disastrous season in three years and seemingly unable to do anything about it. Not to mention that he was given the chance to stay on to the end of the year - he chose to jump immediately.

Bang on. Almost 8 years in charge that is by far the longest serving coach i have seen at leeds in my time watching over 30 years and i would assume one of the longest serving in our history. He had his time and then some.

You had a really long serving one who was there when I first saw Leeds play in Hull back in the mid 40's. Remember my dad talking about seeing him play for Leeds and being an international league and union player.
Looking him up it was Dai Prosser who coached Leeds from 1936-1957

| Guys, we've heard the "rumors" and until "rumor" becomes "fact" we'll call it a day here methinks.
If true there will be a discussion and the posts will be re-instated, but im afraid putting "allegedly" after posts doesn't cover RFLFAN's from litigation.
Sorry to be "that" guy.

| I've watched the highlights of fridays game on sky and the super league show. The basics are glaringly missing. Tries from near the line where there are three defenders on that man. The worst one was where Watkins just stands and looks and doesn't even get stuck into the tackle. The goal line defence and also defence further up allowing quick breaks has been seen by our opposition. We will continue to be torn apart until the defensive basics are sorted out.
As someone rightly posted on Friday, if Hurrell or Dwyer get injured then lets start looking for some paddles down the creek we are now in. GH's plan for Leeds has ultimately failed and I seriously question some of his signings and way he has managed the club in recent years. As for KS, he would have been our hero had there been a turn around but his lack of experience since leaving as a player and being a coach/manager is showing now. I do question Furners signing as he was not proven and this has come back to haunt us. Maybe there is not communication coming from the club as they simply can't cover or paper up all of the mistakes they have made.

And that has to be down to furner. The players aren't responding to his coaching on the field

Why blame Furner for that and not the players? You cant blame the coach for some of the defending weve seen this year.

Because a coach's job is to get the players to perform on the field. If they're not responding to him then we have problems. It's like saying Dave Hockaday wasnt the problem at Leeds utd it was the players.. now I know we have some poor players but we should not be bottom of the table. A good coach makes all the difference

| So if a player cant be d throwing his body at an opponent on his own goal line to stop a try it's the coaches fault. Think your over emphasising what a coach can do.
The players are responsible for their own performance and attitude. A coach can only put structure and tactics into the team.
Do you blame Furner for the ball being kicked out on the full 4 times at KR also?

Time to drop Walker, No excuse for that kicking and his defence on the line is currently poor. Ash Golding currently defences better on the line. Give Lolohea a run there, after all he is a full back too. Playing in the wrong position is not helping.

Not at all. But a good coach can make everyone have the right attitude at least. You're undervalueing what a difference a good coach can make.
