Seconded, tights are for women and in the rugby world wingers and maybe a fullback, a centre at a push.
I cant imagine the ipitch is much worse than playing in the sand/ice that normally makes up headingly early in the season, they didn't wear them then and probably wont now.
We could always not get tackled and score on the first tackle every time, we hammer them and no player gets cut knees, win win

With some of the clothes I've seen him in, I'm surprised!

LEEDS are to follow Salford's example by wearing body skins at Widnes on Sunday.
Reds lost two players in last weekend's game on the synthetic pitch despite the extra protection.
Now two more are being treated for ligament injuries.
Salford coach Phil Veivers said: "Players reported difficulties changing direction when flat out.
"Widnes have their own injuries
Leeds will take no chances though.

And normally Nosey Parker is spot on with his stories...honest.

| I don't get this macho 'man-up'/'no-pain-no gain' attitude.
In any other industry both employers and employees have a shared responsible to ensure their own safety when working with hazardous materials.
Surely, if the I-pitch carries extra risk (and there's no evidence yet that it doesn't) then players are entitled to protect themselves against that (perceived) risk.

| After seeing the state of Matty Ashursts knee's I'd certainly wear full body skins. I'm not somebody that goes out in just a T-Shirt in winter just so I can look like Johnny concrete. The same applies here, to keep the skin on the knee's and be able to sleep, walk and train properly the following week I'd give up the hard man image for one game.

| Tights - no. Instead they should strap squares of turf to their knees and elbows.

| From what I have read regarding the potential grumbles from Salford etc I wouldn't be as worried about scrapes on knees. There seems to be a risk regarding ligiments. Knees and ankles, don't think skins will help much

Agree.
The evidence appears to be mounting that this pitch is a risk: where and when has it been tried before successfully ? (Or is it the RL lads being used as guinea pigs ?)

Makes sense to cover up in bad weather. Ashursts knees were injured on a frozen grass pitch not the iPitch.

? Matty did his on snow at Salford, on grass.
Are you advocating skins for all snowy games?
