I would hope Leeds have learned their lesson in terms of providing "jobs for the boys" among the coaching staff.

Over that period, Leeds are going to need to find replacements for the likes of Webb, Senior, Peacock, Leuluai, Cross, Lauitiiit and Buderus. How well that transition is handled could be the yardstick by which McDermott is measured rather than necessarily the winning of trophies.'"
We do have some replacements coming through the youth system for some of those players:
Webb --- Jones Bishop
Senior --- Watkins
Buderus --- McShane/Hood
Peacock --- Amor??
Lauatiiti --- Pitts??
With the likes of Hardaker, Ambler, Stewart, Singleton, Casey, Burgess (if he stays), Ablett, Clarkson all coming through or out of the 17.
But it will be a tough ride for him.
So we are fairly covered in the youth system.

Jones-Bishop, Watkins, Hardaker, Ward, Ambler, Amor, Hood, Clarkson could be a pretty good generation. McDermott seems to be getting the thankless Darryl Powell job of blooding them, although the existing, experienced players are significantly better than the ones Powell inherited so *if he is any good as a head coach* Leeds should still challenge for titles in the interim.

Hmmm.......NO!
He looks slightly above par, in a very below par side. He has a few highlight games per season. That's pretty much it.

Do you have any doubt that Kevin Sinfield will be the Leeds coach literally the minute he retires from playing?

Burrow won't depart unless they agree terms with Thomas Leuluai.

| Let him go IMO.
He's distinctly average these days. It prefer to see a 1,6,7 combo of BJB, Webb, McGuire next year. Obviously for the start it'd BJB, Sinny, Webb. Iv been saying for the last year and a half that Burrow will never be the player he was due to the fact he has no idea how to open a set defence. He was effective before all the clubs learned how to defend in a set line when it was a lot more broken play.

| Webb doesn't have the game to play in the halves other than in an emergency IMO.
It's one thing coming into the line a couple of times a game and throwing a cut out pass to the left, but there's more to an 80 minute performance in the halfbacks than that (unless you're Paul Cooke).
Still it would fulfill his apparent need to defend right up in the line rather than actually at full back, which has hurt Leeds on more than one occasion this season.

What lesson is that, 3 Grand Finals wins during Poching and Cummins tenures as assistant coaches?

Clearly 3 Grand Final wins that the management believe didn't have a great deal to do with the input of either, given they have been shown the door...

I don't know why you've reached that conclusion. Did they have nothing to do with Smith and McLennan then? Did they have nothing to do with players who have since departed?
Just saying that making ex players assistant coaches hasn't exactly been a recipe for disaster for us so I don't get what lessons need to be learned?

I think Poaching and Cummings leaving has more to do with keeping training fresh rather than them not being deemed influential. The playing personnel can’t change every few years so the coaching staff needs to otherwise things can get stale. There’s only a certain amount of training techniques they can know so some variance from different coaches can’t help IMO to keep training interesting. Look at Fergie at Man u he might have been there 20 odd years but his staff are constantly changing, doesn't mean they weren’t influential just means they need to keep evolving otherwise you plateau.
