thanks for good answer - it makes sense, but jeez, Pitt, he looks so young...I think I've got a sleeping bag that is older than him...

Quote: Gotcha "Its not a dumb question, but can be answered by the way the club operates. Not that I am saying the club is wrong.

The club firmly believe that a player is not up to super league until he is past 20, especially applying this to the forwards.

They beleive they have a good batch of players coming through, but these players on the age basis are two years away. Therefore they needed to plug the gap.

Pitts is a very good player by the way.'"

I saw that article aswell!!!
I think the "dual registration" will help next year as there'll be more opportunity for the youngsters to play at a higher level than the reserve league.

Pretty exciting times at the Rhinos.

If Amor and Pitts continue to develop to Blueys expectations then we will have a very fierce front row. If these two are as hard hitting and powerful as everybody is making out then a front row of, Peacock and Kylie with Amor and Pitts on the bench will just be awesome. Add to that L.Burgess who is continuing to improve every season.

Nothing he's still at hull on loan.
One of the posters on here knows him personally and he was never part of any deal for pitts!

Yes, the dual registration may help.

Although, even though I did say "not that the club are wrong", I do not agree with that policy. You can tend to be focused just one way like that, and miss out on an exceptional youngster playing at the highest standard at an early age.

Holding back is not always the right way. As long as the club are not too strict to it, and keep an open mind, then it is not a problem.

Bringing in Ambler, Coady, Amor, Pitts from other clubs certainly makes a change. It's usually us supplying youth for all the other teams

Good signing.

He's never a prop though, he's an out and out back rower IMO. I think he could be Worrell's replacement.

I'm sure if any player is playing well enough and shows he can step up in class will be given the opportunity.

I haven't seen enough of him to have formed an opinion as yet but he looks a good prospect.

Quote: Brian McClennan " “We are delighted to have signed Jay and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the club. He has impressed us with his performances for the Wildcats over the past two years and when he has played against us in the Reserve Academy or the Festive Challenge matches against Wakefield."'"

How about when he played against Leeds at 1st grade level earlier this season though?

I'm not sure about Burgess. A lot of huff and puff but limited impact. Unfair?

I think burgess will prove to be a good prop for us.
At this moment in time he does appear to be suffering with 2nd season syndrome though plus his workload and number of games are up with the injuries we've had and scruton leaving.
He still has plenty to learn and can be lead footed in defence but he's got time on his side and i'm sure he'll sort it.
