| Despite an injury to Jonathan Joseph (out for three months) another of Bath's England centres, Burgess wasn't even on the bench for Bath's defeat at Wasps on Saturday. He wasn't even at Bath's game, he was with McNamara at Leigh watching little brother Tom.
That suggests very strongly to me that his interest in Bath is zero &, therefore, his days in RU are numbered.
I hope I'm right & that he comes to the Rhinos. Even if it's only for a year.
Just imagine the impact that would have on season ticket sales.

Or just that he's been given some time off following the WC.

Other England players George Ford and Anthony Watson both started at the weekend as they did the week before when Burgess was on the bench. Bit weird to bring him back for a game AND then give him time off. Bath's official word was that he was "rested", why not just say he's been given a post World Cup break.

| "Rested" from what? This is a guy who regularly played 80 minutes as a prop in the toughest league in the world. I hardly think he needs or would want a rest.

| I think the reason for the delay in signing SB is that Gawwy is demanding money from the other SL chairmen, arguing that he wants a %age of the extra gate money they will undoubtedly get at their Rhinos home game!!

If it's to the benefit of the game as a whole and the League in this Country, then I think he is right in getting the RFL to assist in making this happen. They do little else imho.

Exactly, he only started the Wales games and came off with a quarter of the game to go. Late sub appearances in the other two games in a position he doesn't like how little action he sees and not even selected for the last game vs Uruguay. Not many minutes off the bench last week in his Bath appearance either. You'd think that if he was staying in RU he'd be determined to get the game time and experience in.

| Think Sam is through with rugby union. As I said earlier I have it from one of the squad that we are in for Sam seriously. I imagine that the NRL is his preferred location but hopefully we could get him for a couple of years it would be great. Might appeal to him, chance to win something over here, and the challenge of taking over from some of the games greats.

| Sam himself has personally contacted Crowe about a return to Souths. His Mrs is an Aussie and his brothers and mum are in Sydney so I cant see past him returning to Souths. Be a great boost from a promotional side of things to have him super league but I carnt see it.

It may seem that way to some, but we'll just have to see how it all pans out. We either strike a deal or we don't. I'd love to see him play for us next season though.

Sorry I didn't mean to come across as being funny with you, I really wasn't.
If we look at what the situation 'seems' to be:
* Sam is reported to want out of Union (and who could blame him after the treatment)
* Sam was a Leeds Fan as a boy (as were all the Burgess boys)
* Sam is a big admirer of JP (whispers in the ears?)
* Souths are said to be up to their cap limit for 2016-17
* We have LOTS of cap and lots of money in the bank
* We could work with Souths to give Sam a 1-2yr Contract and then he leaves to Souths after
* Gawwy will want to be the man to make this happen
* Sam has a chance to play NQC in the WCC and to win some Super League Silverware
* Leeds will want to keep Salford out of the running (Marclown Cashcow's Circus)
It's all good to talk about in any case.
