I think it was more of a shove than anything. 3 daft yellows for Austin , Gale and Sezer.
Agree with your point about the fitness, think you can see the work of Hunswicks already.

Was really happy with Fusitua. He is a big guy, carried it well with 2 great takes in the air, looks a natural.

Second half much better with promising signs.
Newman was limping after he scored, got taken off a few minutes later. Didn’t Keen to go off.
Plenty’s of good efforts. Thought Austin was very mixed, some real poor stuff at times.

Need to bear in mind Hull had virtually no forwards playing.

I think we look like a team with two very good halfbacks something weve missed for quite some time, Sezer was very good today.

I know we can’t take too much from friendlies but im really liking the look of the squad this year, bar prop we have a lot of good players playing for spots

Don’t think teams will be putting high bombs up to our left hand side much this year!

well well well. that was my first live game in 5 years! Little ones and work have halted me for too long. I had to book a split shift today to manage to get there.
few observations...
1) New stadium was very enjoyable though the pitch is still dire this time of year
2) Very hard to judge as Hull had the kids out in the pack and were not big enough. Though I thought Gale was still the best half on the pitch!
3) we have a team with pace and excitement again. strike all over that pitch. we'll at last be thoroughly entertained this year which is enough for me.
4) Jack Walker is still the best player to watch imho. Absolutely magical on his feet. I have great respect for Myler but think Jack will be first choice after few rounds (or at least should be). We actually have two quality fb at club which is nice.
5) was really impressed by Tet and think he'll come into his own this year.
6) we have a huge weapon in the air with Fusitua, and should target his edge with kicks. (he is also defensively sound in air too , which is a big improvement.

Really looking forwards to the Wire game now.....

Hopefully Prior and Newman aren’t serious.

Walters having an operation apparently next week so will be out a bit, with Holroyd. Also, Mustapha doesn’t sound good as he suffered a knee injury today for Bradford.

No. The pitch is in good condition.

It looked sandy because they are preparing it so it'll look good in two weeks time.

All in all a good pre season to watch albeit against an under strength Hull team.
I started to type that I thought Myler and our 2 wingers had good games.
But then I could have added our centres and halves and forwards.
All those who played for us today had decent games.
Like others have said we are certainly going to be competitive this season and it might depend how many players we can keep on the field as to us winning something this year.
Anybody know what the attendance was?

TBH Hull were so disjointed it's hard to read too much into it. We'll be lucky to face a side leaving so many gaps and missing that many one on ones during the entire season proper.

Agreed that we cant read too much into that with a weakend Hull side but the signs are encouraging. Looks like we might have a potent attack on the left and right for the first time in a long time. Are we serious silverware contenders, personally I think we will need a bit of luck in a cup run to be challenging as I think League Leaders and GF are probably out of our reach for this year

as a Hull fan, really hard to get a gauge on where we are at currently. Gale looked good, but we have now lost Connor for 5-6 weeks so Gale will have more responsbility for the attack.

My concern for the first month is that we have no pack! Satae, Sao, Taylor, Kane Evans, Ma'u, Bowden, Savelio, Cator all missing yesterday and not sure when/if they will be back

Glad Litten's ok, that was a huge hit.
I'll give Hicks a bit of credit for not showing a card to Fus as I suspect a few refs would have, regardless of the challenge being legal.

Unless of course he missed it icon_wink.gif

I think he was already looking at the Austin/Gale tackle and didnt see the hit on Litten. It was a fair hit in IMO, Litten suffers a whiplash style injury - but he is very lightweight, so hopefully that will encourage him to bulk up a bit as we have high hopes for him

Griffin and Reynolds were sat near me yesterday, along with most of your pack hope they are back for you soon. No team can cope without all those front line forwards missing.
