Quote: batleyrhino "We’re in a mess after being asleep at the wheel on squad quality for years, and I think everyone understands that takes a couple of years to fix, but the lack of effort and smarts shown by so many of this current squad is really telling.

The rotten culture isn’t completely rooted out yet.'"

Do people understand it will take time? Reading this forum im not so sure.

I'm not alluding to anything but you know when a team is just in a bad patch of form to when a team has so much that's fundamentally wrong. I hope I'm wrong but I dont see that being turned around very quickly.

"We're not as good as we thought we were in our best weeks, we're not as bad as we think we are in our worst weeks" - Brian McDermott

Lots of typical southstander tery on here tonight, some people have been literally unseen on here since the Hull game.
Underneath, Leeds are where we thought they were: upper mid-table, they'll win more than they lose but most of the time they won't be able to beat the best teams, even with a full strength team.

I wish Donaldson had been playing tonight , he would have improved the defence in the middle of the park.
A terrible performance tonight, although Saints were excellent.
If there was any positives it was good to see Leeming get plenty of minutes, I thought he went well on the whole.

Disappointing game, really poor performance obviously. Feel like some overreact a little on here, to be clear that saints team was red hot, they would have taken any other team in SL apart playing like that.
We looked really disjointed in attack, I think a lot of that came from both the lack of power up front and handley at FB.
We don’t have huge amounts of quality or experience so when you take out a couple of players it does have an impact.
Couple of points I picked up on - Prior isn’t a top level prop, he is more of a 13 and when he is asked to play front row against quality he gives away pens a fair bit.
Handley shouldn’t cover full back, if walker and myler are out I’d rather play a young specialist full back there.
We shouldn’t ever pick a back on the bench, I would rather we had to play Mellor, Martin in the centre if we get an injury and loaded up with props/back row.

So overall very disappointing, really poor discipline, effort and control of the ruck. We are making progress, we have a couple of injuries, our squad isn’t big enough and the young lads aren’t there yet. I don’t think agar is what we need long term but I would say overall he has improved the attitude and team spirit, interesting to see how we bounce back from that kind of performance, if we play badly again next week then alarm bells should be ringing.

It isn't a sack Agar or anything like that. It is a re-evaluation of where we are - not the best - not the worst but definitely not competitors.

Leeds did well to re-balance the team after Furner.

But....I'm not sure about one or two of our star players....Prior underwhelming, Lui fat, Hurrell fat (and a turnover fest).

If you're a professional sportsman and you are unfit - get out of Leeds.

Definitely Christopher. It’s happened several times in the NRL which is usually unheard of

Only positive was the take on the full from short drop out that got us up to halfway. I'm sick off seeing players making injuries worse by staying on; especially this early in the season... in a blow out loss. It's not like football where you can't put them back on again. Stupidity!

If anyone thought we are anywhere near Saints stamdard they are deluded about this team. Nobody in SL really is when Saints are on their game.

Were capable of competing most weeks. Thats where we are at. We are a better team than we showed tonight but ultimately weve too many players not good enough to challenge for trophies at this stage.

Some players under performed massively tonight, discipline was poor early on and physically we was dominated by the best team in the league. We need to be at our maximum to give them a game.

Theres no need to over react or panic but we need a response now.

We was going ok before tonight but were not where we need to be at the moment.

Thought Cam Smith worked overtime to end on probsbly the only high tonight.

Quote: Swoggy Loiner "I mean as a whole pal. It’s been five years in the making to get this poor. Ok we somehow managed to pinch a GF win in 2017, but the writing was on the wall when Sinfield and Peacock jacked.
I’m well aware it’s not easy running a club as big as Leeds, and balancing the books, but to see clientele like Rhys Evans and James Donaldson in a Leeds 17 is an all time low.'"

We had the same problem when we started signing players like Jack Owens and Matty Dawson etc..

Think that’s a good summary, I thought Smith was easily our best too.

Will be interesting game next week, I actually think Wigan will go well this year, I think they've got a very capable squad

Everyone takes a beating at some point, its part of growing up.We could talk all day and all night about what went wrong but for me this shows once again that we need genuine size and quality in the middle.Very disappointed not to see holroyd also.
