| Not posted in ages but thought I'd share my thoughts now there's actually signs of life in the team!
The turn around in our defense is quite remarkable really. Fair play to Agar for that, and to the players as they're finally starting to play as a unit.
Stand outs for me were Ava - what an effort just after stepping off the plane on Weds. Myler gets some bashing on here but having Lui in the team seems to have taken some of the pressure off his shoulders. Always seems to come up with some big defensive plays dislodging the ball. Also thought Newman put in a really good defensive effort, looks to be getting better at knowing when to jam in and shut down a play. Fair play to Sutcliffe as well as I thought he put in a shift. Think second row is his best position and thought he coped fairly well with McMeekan tonight. Also pleasing to see Cuthbertson and Singo showing some form!
Glad we've got Lui in the team now too, he's a far more dependable player than Lolohea, and looking forward to seeing more of Martin who despite the errors tonight I think he'll come good.
Also think the criticism of Handley is a bit wide of the mark - dropped a high kick but also came up with some important plays too. Yes our wingers make some bad errors and I wouldn't be against bringing in better quality at some point should it be available but I think we have other areas to fix up first.
Anyway, a good win and let's hope we get a run going!

| Will have to watch it again but initial thought was ferries did a lot in D not as bad as some making out, will have to re watch the recording when I get back. Initial thoughts was good team performance nice to see the effort for each other. The middle played well myler had good game props were spot on and liked merrin. Martin looked a little off but understandable. Will re watch tomorrow

| Massive win that. Absolutely delighted.
Not just the 2pts but some Leeds steel of old back in the performance.
Looks like the lads are enjoying being at the club again.
The quality still isn’t quite there and won’t be until we get some more talent in the side, but our D had some bite to it for once.
Even thought Sutcliffe had a decent game tonight.

| Credit to Agar, he looks to have turned around the team. Earlier in the season we would have conceded 50 with all the sets they had on our line.
Forwards look tough, and Lui adds some spark and impact which has been missing so far this season.
With this being one of the games we'd not expected to win, we are now in a position where hull KR have to win two more games than us. A win next week and we'd almost be there I reckon

| Re: Hurrell No Try. I still don't get how the rules can be right when they ignore Rankin's knock on and give a penalty to Cas for Konrad being in front of kicker.
Am not saying it should be a try, but it should be our play of ball at scrum.
I hope they tweak that 10 yard grace rule next season. It totally let's defenders off with their f*** ups.

| Feel like KS and Agar need some credit here. We’re not out of danger but that side has transformed since the low points, and that’s not happened by accident.

Well summed up. Agree. Theres still a way to go offensively but thats down to confidence and a lack of talent in a couple of positions and in the depth of the squad overall. But very very proud tonight. Leeds of old that with the defence and attitude

| To be fair to Martin he’s probably never played on a pitch thats so small he’s not the first to kick it out on the full, right time for a brandy and to watch it back, for once with a smile

But he was in front if the kicker and within 10m of the ball. Correct decision.
Cant complain though that was a good nights entertainment. Cant fault the effort or desire. So much of what's been missing all year.
Players and management deserve a lot of credit for that.

| Pity we didn’t get to see more of Martin and he made a couple of errors. I think he’ll be good for us once he settles.
Interesting that Oledski has been dropped a couple of weeks recently. I wonder if he’s carrying an injury. It could just be that he needs to be stood down for a while -
he’s still only 20 and been consistent at prop for us.
Cam Smith looked up for it tonight when he came on. Donaldson was great for his spell too, tackled anything that moved.
Still can’t get over the transformation of Cuthbertson.
