Did you have the same view when we did them @ MM the other year?

| Worst refereeing ever ?
Clearly this person has never seen ...
Stan Wall - Yes that wizend old man that carries the kit for the Scousers used to be a full paid up Leeds hater
Robin Whitfield - A man who used to revel in winding up the South Stand ... Anyone remember his contrived 46-all draw ?
Fred Lindop - Wakefield's answer to Darth Vader. The Lord Of The Sith's career came on leaps & bounds after taking Fred's self-improvement course.
John Holdsworth - Coming from Kippax (with a Leeds post code) meant that John avoided his 'home town team' (Cas). A referee who couldn't fail to hide his delight after effecitvely ending a player's career, nothing to worry about then, because the player concerned was in blue & amber.
Don't worry, there are plenty of contenders for that title !

| regarding the decision to disallow mcguires try at the end, people on here saying it went forward off of jjbs hand, the video ref cant disallow a try for a forward pass although he clearly did, you could argue it was a knock on but with the ball not touching the ground for me it shouldnt of been disallowed, when does a pass not become a pass? the rules on this need clearing up

| Ian Smith was near perfect last night. He refered anything suspect to the video ref and was proven correct. Best ref performance i've seen for years and should be applauded. The only bad decision he made was allowing the Leeds try that was forward. If you read the rules you'll see that every decision made was the correct one that you're calling wrong.

I must admit the same thought crossed my mind at full time
As for my two-peneth...
While I've not read the all of the other 80 or so pages on yesterday's refereeing but I'm a bit bemused why we don't seem to be able to discuss the decisions can't just be discussed rationally. At the very least they were interesting talking points.
I've no problem with yesterdays result (so this isn't a moan)...as far as I'm concerned games like that make League the best sport to watch - if that means my team has to lose now and again I can live with that!
On the JJB one - to me the key question is when is a pass a pass - the flick looked pretty intentional to me (albeit a reflex adjustment when JJB realised he couldn't take the pass)...in which case I'd have thought the momentum rule should have applied and the try stood.
The problem for the video ref is that he can't rule on a forward pass (a poor rule to me but that's another discussion)...therefore he had little option but to give a knock on.
On the Webb one - as many have pointed out technically the decision was correct. However, why isn't this rule normally enforced?

| Quote rooster_rhino="rooster_rhino"I have refereed for over 20 years and I apologise for tonight.
An offside player is put onside when a player from an onside player runs in front of you and puts you on onside !!!
Burrows carries the ball in front of Webb and passes to him !! Onside
what happens when a team makes a break and is tackled are all the players running back from an offside position onside once an onside player intervenes !!! That is the view of the ref - you cannot have two rules ??????
The video ref cannot give a forward pass !!!! Period
How can an inside pass be a knock on, the vide ref cannot call on a knock on !!
These decisions are contrary to the rules of the game !!!
I would love an explanation from the HQ
UNDEFENDABLE !!!'"
i think you'll find the video ref can call a knock on

| Quote Dicko_09="Dicko_09"Can someone remind me there use?
These are my views
1.the video ref tonight was either stupid or blind
Webb was played onside by Burrow and did not start a forward run until Burrow had passed him
McGuires try was a try the ball went backwards
Sheriffes try was obstructed, there was a possibility of Buchanon tackling the kicker
2. the ref was just poor
Ablett was sent off even though the 'ref' had not called held, is Ablett meant to know if there is no call
one on one rip by sinfield, newtons arm didn't touch the ground so you can still rip it
3. touch judges i am not even going to waste time on them, waste of space just for a change'"
Ian Smith is poor............although in fairness it is not his refereeing that made us shocking!! Better team won........they did not make the errors we did.

Had a Bradford player done what JJB did I think the consensus on here would have been that it was a dead set, 100% guaranteed, copper bottomed knock on. Just because a Leeds player touched it shouldn't alter that judgement. JJB should have allowed it to pass by him to Sinfield and the try would have stood. He didn't so it was correctly ruled out for a knock on.

Do you have a specific example where this particular rule hasn't been enforced either normally or recently. I'd like to see it so I can build up a sense of injustice.

I agree they played a lot of one up and kept it reasonably tight. We did not create enough to trouble them.

It appears that your head is as empty as the Giants trophy cabinet, now run along.
