Wells banana bread beer is very nice, especially when its ice cold

The best beer I have had is banks.

Think you can get it in specialist beer shops. It's Barbados beer brewed there and was brilliant. My memory of it is proberly enhanced due to where I was drinking it!!!

Also for rum lovers

Mount gay rum and cockspur bajan rum both awesome, as is havanna club, but again best drunk in Cuba with a nice monti christo in hand.

I have started drinking Kingstone press cider recently because the corner shop had it in again for the 1st time in a while, aldi had some aswell but when I went down yesterday they had run out and I have just been to the corner shop and now he's run out now aswell







Gotta have a few freezing cold ciders in this weather so strongbow will have to do for now

Its nectar when sipped at a poolside bar I agree, but it doesn't travel well and its fairly ordinary at home - it is in fact Budweiser under a different label (even the bottles are the same shape) as the brewery was funded by Bud in the 1970s when the UK joined the EU and left its former colony with a huge mountain of sugar cane to get rid of every year.

I knew it was the setting clouding my judgement on the beer!! They (banks) also did a brew called ledgends I think named after sir Garfield sobers?

I used to know the bloke who was sent out there by the UK accountants that he worked for to set up the brewery, he "went native" and ended up putting in a bid for a derelict sugar plantation that had closed because of the sugar cane market decline, it was about a mile inland and had rights to a stretch of beach and enough land for about half a golf course - he had no money and was half-joking when he put the bid in to the administrators, they accepted his bid and he then had to go to the bank and beg for all of the money.

25 years later I ended up with the contract to look after the payroll system at their hotel and golf course and the beachfront restaurant, it was tough work but I had to go out there for a week, all expenses paid, fly BA Club World, once a year for five years, the hotel was all inclusive and they gave me an apartment and every time I arrived there the fridge was rammed full of bottles of Banks beer, no food, just beer.

They went bust in 2002 because the 9/11 attacks stopped the Americans from flying in at weekend s to play his golf course and that was the end of my free holidays

Tricky though, in one episode he changed his name. Miguel Sanchez aka Lionel Hutz.

I thought he was called Lionel Huntz at first. Agnes Skinner did my head in aswell.

It's a bit like Stowford press if you have ever had that but, Stowford is better but it's miles more expensive, it's even cheaper at Aldi(£1.19) and Morrisons(£1.09) aswell.

I should probably add that I am in no way connected to these cider companies or trying to sell you any and that it's probably available at other good supermarkets I just happen to like them

Too sweet for me!

I had some of that blackthorn cider yesterday. It only cost around £4 a big bottle from Co-op. Had a Westons cider bough for me as well which was as nice as always

I want a yum yum... I have the lagers, all I need is the WKD Blues! Anyone care to bring me some around?
