Nah - I just don't agree with your definition of elite when it comes to SL. Part Time v Full time - not sure what my observation on the cyclical nature of success in sport has to do with fitness. On the CC Final - 99 is probably my favourite CC win just because it took so long in coming, but that doesn't detract from the fact that we won it in 2020, and it's pointless to try and dismiss that.

No problem - we must agree to differ on elite athletes - my view is the difference is world class and elite. You suggested the standard in the 80's 90s was shoddy - these guys were part time. These days basic skills should be a minimum full time athletes should deliver.

Certainly didn't mean to decry the standards in the 80's and 90"s. Aside from the fact the Leeds were perennial bridesmaids (at best) it was something of a golden era where, for once, we were really close to the Kangaroos. The elite/world class players of the time had a profile, and perhaps talent, that todays can only dream of.

I know the standard of superleague is fairly poor but if Welsby isn't elite who in your opinion is?

If you read back on some of the posts you'll find I did reference Welsby as an elite player.

If Lisone follows Georgia Hale home could this mean a change in the Walters situation? It could mean we can offer enough cash to keep Walters, and possibly use the quota space to strengthen elsewhere for this season?

What's a sensible offer for an unproven player like Walters? Setting the usual sentimentality shown to our youngsters aside there has to be a cut off point.

If Lisone goes, keep walters and use the quota spot and our spare marquee to bring in a half with pace from the NRL. I'm not bothered whether they are top of the food chain, but bit pace is a must.
