What were these, awful decisions? Getting rid of Furner was a brave, and very good decision.....

I'd say Sinfield's only real awful mistake was hiring Furner, but he quickly rectified that and as above that was a brave and correct decision.

| I take what I read on here with a pinch of salt, sometimes a bad loss, a poor performance is magnified by personal frustrations and once youve posted it, sometimes theres no way back.
Yes you will always have the pessimists and optimists (I think i swing wildly between both sometimes tbh) and we do still have some mild wind up merchants on here using provocative language, but ATEOTD, we are all fans, we all love the club and want it to do well. It is frustrating sometimes when you see something that wouldn't have happened X years ago during the golden era, but guess what? we aint in that period anymore and hate it or love it, we are going to have to accept it. Provided we learn from it then so be it. We are in different water to where we were even just a few years ago, yes we are still behind where we maybe should be, but at least we are heading upwards and not spiralling like we have been.
Sometimes you grudgingly have to give respect, yes we've made errors, yes we've made some mistakes, but the club has done its best to juggle the issues we have while cutting the cloth (more or less) accordingly.

Crosby signed injured Jordan Thompson 2yr deal for Ablett who could hardly walk let alone run.
2& 3 yr contracts for the Briscoes 2yr deal for Thompson ,Lui 2 & half years ,Furner had to go but is Agar good enough long term to get us back into the top 2/3 & genuine contenders for a GF? Is he the right choice to improve & intergrate the best youngsters into the 1st Team?
On the flip side Tetevano Prior Gale Hurrell were good signings Martin did well initially but the next phase of recruitment has to be quality over journeymen quantity.

Agree with 95% of this but why have a blueprint that brought so much success & then ignore it?
I get that the elite NRL players are much harder or even impossible to attract but that doesnt mean we should accept past it or journeymen either.
One of the biggest frustrations is Sinfield was at the heart of our success & saw what worked wrt giving youngsters more games other than 1 or 2 they only come into the Team when injuries bite.
At Huddersfield Agar put L.Briscoe on the bench over Gannon or Edwards wtf?

| I see both sides of the argument, both sides are correct, no one more than me has moaned about the length of time it has taken to rebuild the team. Simply pinning the blame on the rebuild of the stadium is not acceptable, neither is pinning the blame on Sinfield is acceptable, however what is acceptable is some of the decisions that have been made over the years has been horrendous. When the plan to develop the stadium there should have been a plan a place that would not have affected the playing side of the club. Money was duly raised at a time when interest rates where never so low and raising capital was easy. I know because I raise corporate capital.
We have a rich owner in Caddick, make no bones about it he is a well off man, yet for some reason we allowed the playing side of the team to suffer at the expense of the ground development and that is wrong. It simply should have been planned better.
The decision on recruitment was poor, we never replaced any of the golden team on a like off like basis and unlike Wigan or Saints who lose players every year to the NRL they simply pick up replacements and they slot into the team. Why did that not happen here at Headingley, GH has a lot to answer for, with trying to build a team on the cheap, and hope the coach could improve them. McDermott he had to go, make shift coach in Agar is now in charge, he has done well but now we are so far behind the other teams, our rebuilding is again open to question.
We appointed a director of Rugby, now we have 3 big wages to pay, yet we are not yet at the level of Saints or Wigan, still we are giving new contracts to players who people on here say they are not good enough.
What the three guys at the top are not doing is saying how can we catch up Wigan and Saints and how long will it take.
I don’t see a plan that is open to scrutiny, a plan that is good enough, and still more quality recruitment is needed.
I don’t mind being in the bottom half of the table if I see improvement, but I will be surprised if we finish in the top six, if we don’t what will people on here be saying. The time is right to change the plan and move this club forward

I agree this was one & i hold up my hands i thought he would be good for us given his previous roles. But i stand by my point there have been many others.

There always will be for every single club, absolutely no club and no person gets it right all the time on every deal. What you need to do is get more right than you get wrong and have a longer term plan for the smaller decisions you are making.
I would say generally that the longer term plan is very clearly to fill the squad with younger players and hopefully develop some of those younger players into superstars over a couple of years. In addition to think more careful about where we spend big money and the impact it gives us.
Some of the deals you mentioned don’t last as long as the contract as people retire, leave etc. Generally I think Sinfield is doing well and making more correct than incorrect decisions. What I would accept is that this off season coming is probably where he will really need to earn his corn as big decisions to be made which could really set us up for a number of good years.

I don’t think we are as behind as you think we are, yes if you look at the table at this moment in time but I would see how we are in a few months before declaring the rebuild a failure.

Time for serious questions about Davidson and what is going on in training, it’s ridiculous.

Don't be daft. Players ge injured, just going through horrendous run. Am pleased with our bench tonight, and with O'conmor starting. We got some serious young talent....!

You can’t repeatedly have this volume of injuries without some concern and review of practices, when does it become beyond coincidental.
