Last night i lost count how many times Lui or Myler called a move only fir Dwyer to fall over run up his own arris or get caught running aimlessly in circles.
I like him but we need to get a brain cell for him from somewhere.

Why mention last night? Its every single week. The bizarre thing about it is everytime he disappears up his own backside by running around in a circle everybody around me claps and says how good it was. The hooking position at Leeds has been a farce now for far too long. Different 9s every year and none of them any bloody good.

I said the same thing about running around and people clapping. They have no idea. To be fair it was also the same with Burrow. But the number of times in their 20 last night, when we were well on top, that he either put out a terrible pass, or ran the wrong way everyone was expecting, was simply inexcusable. There was one point where we had five players including Lui to his right, against two Salford players, and he took it left. The score 14-12 at that point. He is nothing more than a back up impact player, and doing that means him blocking Johnson.

| Agree about Dwyer. last night Salford defended well and once a team is disciplined enough not to fall for Dwyer throwing a dummy (not hard for full time SL pros), he ends up running in ever decreasing circles or sideways.
Also agree about Hurrell , he makes far too many basic errors to be a marque player. Last week charging out of the line and missing man and ball from a long , floating pass. This week, 2 knock-on's , the one before half time meant we lost momentum and they got a penalty to go in 14-6. The second half his penalty on sio, resulted in us defending for 10 mins and they got winning try.
Great to see ward back looking good and thought cuthbo was a big miss on attack.
I've no idea if we are in for gale but if true surely we should being going after the 20 year old trueman rather than a 31 year old coming back from 2 terrible injuries.
As for Connor, think he is class but not right for us. He needs to go into a very strong dressing room, where some can try to sort him out. Having said that not sure anyone can change his mindset other than himself.

He falls over all the time. Nothing more than an impact 9

| I always will remember the difference Segeyaro made to us with his organisation skills and really good kicking game. Totally transformed us. The whole team seemed to lift off his great plays.

| If Lunt can manage a good pre-season I would go with him for 80 mins,we look much better with him on the field. Not a fan of Dwyer at all.

| I believe Dwyer wont play next week and Corey will make his debut. Terrific young talent.
I'm sure he will be slated on here from 10pm on Friday because hes not Benny Elias or Buderus at 19 year old on debut but he fully deserves his call up and has totally earned his chance.

| That’s a big call packing down against the Wire front row.
I’d like to see Corey in the first team sooner rather than later.

| Though he may day around a bit though dwyer at least brought some energy on. Lunt was incredibly slow and imo offered very little in attack. Deffo need to sign a good 9

| People are putting far too much hope and expectations on too many young players who have not even played in super league yet and some who have not even played open age. This current crop may be the best in a long time, but look back at the golden generation side, lots did not make it and some looked very good and never stepped up to super league level. If 3-4 of this current crop are playing in the first team regular in 2-3 years we will have done well, it's a massive step up and has history as proven looking a world beater in the Academy does not automatically mean they will be good enough, the fact a fairly average academy prospect in 1999 is retiring On Friday prove that, whilst better players around him have come and gone proves that.
The amount of times I have heard this player and that are definitely gong on to be the next big thing for them to flop at open age.

Agree. Don't mind Dwyer from the bench but while Lunt plays a starting hooker's game, he doesn't do it especially well.

I do agree with you, but I've watched a lot of academy over the years, including Sinfield, Smight, McGuire, Bailey, Diskin etc. and my view is that this crop is up there - certainly if you include our Scholarship too.
You're dead right that not all will make it, and some will that we don't expect (O'Connor, Delaney, McConnell could be dark horses for an example).
Tom Holroyd has hardly played this year due to chronic foot injuries and now Broadbent has a smashed jaw - injuries also take their toll even on young lads. It took JJB years to get over his groin problems, and the club only stayed with him because he had such an exceptional attitude (proven right in the end).
There is a wider debate around some prominent youngsters we're failing to attract (Trueman, Smithies spring to mind). But that's an easy game isn't it? You don't have foresight when the lads are 15.
In addition to Walker, Handley, Newman, Oledzki I'd expect to see some of Johnson, Stephens, Broadbent, Holroyd, Dupree, Trout, Walters, McLelland next year. They might not all make it but some will, and they're all worthy of a chance.
The Reserves comp has come at the right time for our squad IMO.
