| If it wasn't for Cas playing as bad as we've been playing we'd of been handsomely stuffed. Again another lead we built vanishes. Should of won by 12 tonight. Furner dodged the executioner for another week.

Oh come on stop it. Furner is going to get at minimum 2 seasons to get things going unless he decides HE wants to walk. There is much work to do but give the guy half a chance to weed out the garbage and bring in who he wants.

Completely agree DF is the last one with his job under threat imo.
I question some of his selections but lets be honest only 4 players were signed/ok'd by him.

| Quote: Gotcha "I have been a Critic of Singleton, but he played very well last night, only fair he gets credit. He is getting stick that doesn’t match up. He was especially good in the collision last night, which he hasn’t been previously. Ten carries and 86 metres, our best average gain in the pack. 33 tackles and 2 misses. For a sub he worked himself in well.
Cameron Smith stats, wow. Top tackler and 127 metres carried.'"
If we're highlighting the flaws in Ferres performances its only right Singo gets the same those 2 dumb penalties he gave handed them the momentum & they scored twice off the back of it.
He grafted yes but he nearly cost us.

One penalty conceeded. And offered far more than Ferres has ever done, so an unfair comparison there. Like I said, he gets the critisism, and deservedly in the other games, so only fair we highlight the credit when due.

| Quote: Towns88 "Really bizarre this weird praise for Myler, he was bang average again last night, his crappy negative kicks for touch like it's an achievement, well I suppose it is an achievement for him when he doesn't punt it out on the full but he wasn't a big player for you last night; walker Merrin Smith and singleton can take that mention.'"
Rubbish, he was a massive player for us. His work rate was immense, and always trying to gee up his team mates, playing the role the captain should be. His support play also excellent. You might have won with him in your side, instead of what you have.

I doubt it. For the best part of an hour our forwards didn't do enough so any half back would have been playing off the back foot. Plus Myler is hardly known for his execution of 1 pointers (look how many close games you lost last year).
You want him to do well as he's your 7 but he's bang average.

Urgh,I hate agreeing with you!
Don't get me started on Ash Handley. Throwing the ball into the crowd and pointing down the camera when he scores. Let's win a few games first before you start celebrating like that.

| Well done Leeds, the right result I think but it should have been much easier. I think they were entitled to celebrate like they did as it is a big win for them, not just the points but the fact they won a tight game.
Cas were a shadow of the team of the last 3 seasons and there is a lot of work to do at the club. Not sure where we go from here, did not see the McShane incident but sounds like he will pick up a ban. Rest might do him good as he was poor tonight.

| I don't think it has been pointed out on the thread yet, but I'm pretty sure the three second half Cas tries all came when Merrin was having a breather on the subs bench. Just goes to show how important he is for us - early days but the effort in attack and defence was reminiscent of a certain JP.
It doesn't say much for the rest of our weak middle defence for the latter part of the second half though. Some forwards were getting brushed off far too easily when Cas were returning kicks - as the Matt Cook break illustrated. That said with JJB and Holroyd unable to come back on there must have been some tired bodies out there!
So relieved we got the win. What ever you want to say about the problems with the Cas team, they are still third in the table and were desperate to put it right after last week. Leeds were also missing a lot of players considered at the start of the season to be first choice - Ferres, Lolohea, and Ward, not to mention long term absentees like Ablett and Crosby. I know we might prefer some of these players out of the team, but it was pleasing to see those that were on the field working hard for one another to get the result. They really do seem to have come together.

| Correct the 15 minutes in the second half when they scored 3 tries was when Merrin was off the field. Other than that grateful for the win, I enjoyed most of the game and sat opposite the South stand the atmosphere coming out of that stand was brilliant. It's two points and more work needed but it was a step forward. I haven't seen or heard Powell comments about him saying it was if we had won the cup, but if you look at his players when the drop goal went over it was if they had lost the cup. The win last night meant so much to both teams, even I celebrated like we had won the cup

I was talking about last night, not what he is generally. Last night he was as good as any half out there, as I said you were talking rubbish.

Gale is a big miss, everything went through him and obviously hasn't been replaced with him being injured so late in the day.
Still have enough as a team to make the top 5 i think but Warrington and Saints a t this point look on a different level to the rest.

Not saying much mate because there were only 3 halves out there last night and I'm being generous labelling Sutcliffe as one. Did he have a better game than Trueman, maybe but that's because our pack were on the back foot for an hour. Last 20 Myler was AWOL because your pack were gassed, the best he could do was drill a ball into touch , much to our gain at the time really because it just gave us an uncontested scrumto get back on the front foot. Did Myler do much to stand out the way you're making out, not really.
As I said, there were at least 4 players from your side who stood out more so than Myler and probably a few from ours too, thus putting Myler about half way up and in the average bracket which is what he is in general as well.
