| Huddersfield will want this done before he's due back for pre-season, I would imagine. Expect things to move pretty quickly.

Not sure it comes down to being selfish. He's no doubt made a mess of his personal life (I don't know what the situation is with his wife) but he may have to think about the money. If she's left him and is filing for divorce, he'll need some money in his pockets. As much as we fans like o think it's all about the trophies - unless they have an affinity to the club money plays a big part in decisions because they need to think long term.
I personally think it's low an act as a man can do (cheating not only on his wife but also his best mate). But the fact is he will get a club somewhere and as long as it doesn't unsettle us in the dressing room, I'd have him. He'll realise that his options are limited and another indiscretion will probably be the end of his career [at any decent level].

That will probably depend on the quality of your WAGs.

When did Leeds start worrying about that?

About whether a player fitted into the culture of the club and was accepted in the dressing room?
Right before we started winning a lot of trophies. Building that kind of culture was one of the cornerstones of the 2004-2015 group of players. A pleasant change from Leeds teams of old riddled with cliques and in-fighting.

You can't see the difference? It was an answer to an issue for a Wire, that fit. Westerman is a class player, and why Leeds included were in for him, whether he can drive or not.
Now get in the real world and understand salaries. It's funny that you spout if he is in it for money, then Salford will be his destination, yet you discount that his current club would pay this salary.'"
Quit the itk act Gotcha. You know jack, mate. Clark, Westerman and Burgess were all signing for us at one stage according to you. Now you claim Ferres is on way more money than Sinfield was? Give your head a shake pal

You needed to get your facts right instead of spouting your rubbish. And no where have I quoted Sinfields salary.
But if you want to look back on my posts this year, you will see a post about unrest at Huddersfield over the new contract offer to Wardle because of the massive difference compared to what Ferres is on. Most at Huddersfield rate Wardle as one of their top players. Then just before we played them last game another post from me stating some of the Huddersfield players upset that Ferres straight back in at the expense of Connor. He is on a lot of money at Huddersfield and their was unrest before this incident.
You need to stop making rash statements, grow up, and speak to others maybe. He is comfortably above £100k on his current contract.

| Aitchurch bloody hell, no thanks would rather keep Ferres and farm him out to Oldham on loan for 4 years than take Aitchurch. We aint lacking in pack options and Ferres was e last season so not a big loss for us. He wont be going to Leeds as you cant afford him and cant see him been loaned to a SL team, that was just a possibility with it been an NRL team. If we dont get the money a 29 year old international with 4 years left on his contract is worth (slightly less due to situation) then suppose we just keep hold and he plays for Oldham but wont give him away for nowt to strengthen another team. Hope we can get rid though cos dont want to see him wearing C&G ever again. We have standards at Huddersfield

It's amazing how many people on here know the finer details of various clubs financial situations and wage bills.

| Ferres is done at Hudds. What they hold is simply a barrier to other clubs signing him. They won't keep him not playing for 4 years, so the remaining term is meaningless.
The problem is the ability of anyone being able to fit him under the cap when most clubs had finished recruitment for next year. The top clubs will have no space without offloading someone (and getting a player to go at this stage might also be hard), which might mean the likes of Salford are his only option.
BTW unless they're idiots, there's no way Hudds would pay a share of his wages. What he's done would give them the ability to tear up his contract (disrepute and behaviour clauses - wouldn't be hard to prove in court). That means all they'd need to do is agree a swap and he's gone.
I have every sympathy with Hudds and their fans on this - Ferres has dropped them right in it with very little chance of getting a decent replacement for next year.

Haven't Leeds always left a little in reserve if needed. That's why we were able to bring in Ali in 2004 and bring Lee Smith back in 2010? For arguments sake if we had got Sam Burgess, whilst it would've been marquee they'd still been a chunk on the normal salary cap (£125k isn't it?).
Also from Ferres' view. Wouldn't he be open to taking a bit of a pay cut for one season and then the club that takes him offer him more in 2017 when they can work him better into their salary cap and him actually being able to resurrect his career or stay stuck in the mess he's made at Hudds?

Nope, you had no choice here given the situation involves two players currently playing for your club.
I would also wager if this was all going on at another club Huddersfield would be in the queue for his signature.

Where he'll continue to get paid his basic salary for doing naff all.
Ferres doesn't need to go anywhere he doesn't want to for anything less than he thinks he's worth. This isn't a World Cup year or anything, so it's not like sitting on the sidelines at Huddersfield is going to mean he misses a major tournament.
Unless Huddersfield want to invite a legal case by actually sacking him for gross misconduct, he can quite happily plod along picking up his salary. Alright it's a pay cut in real terms because he'll miss out on match bonuses, but it's not like he's going to starve to death.
The player holds all the cards in this situation, daft as it is. Just because he's been transfer listed doesn't mean he's obliged to move to the first club that comes in for him, at least not in the short term.

| Standards that don't extend as far as paying him off and letting him go where he wishes, it would seem. In other words, probably no better or no worse than any other club finding itself in a similar situation.
