| Quote: Exeter Rhino "Arthur wouldn't have made Frawley captain if he didn't rate him. Momirovski's recent form hasn't been good at all, but he's another that has played a lot better than his last game.'"
Momirovski, no pace, nor physicality not capable at competing at the highest level of rugby. If he played several seasons for us it wouldn’t change things. As for frawley Blake Austin in the dying embers of his career is a superior player than frawley. Both frawley and Momirovski are a factor in cementing our middle table status. Look at the league table and compare our position with Salford and then contemplate we robbed them off two of the teams star players. Then look wher we are, that’s how far we have sunk. Not forgetting we have a temporary coach.

Momirosvki played over 40 games in 2 years for Penrith and Sydney roosters, he’s clearly capable of competing at the highest level. Wether he works out for us we’ll have to see.

He has played for big clubs and his pass to Fusitua a few weeks ago showed he has some talent. However, he has largely been very poor considering that pedigree. He turned up unfit after going on a stag do or whatever Smith let him get away with.
He has picked up a bit under Arthur, but last week he was an awful again in the first half.
Season on the line , 4 minutes in, Wigan kick to the corner , Marshall taps the ball back inside to Wardle. Momirovski does not run back to cover Wardle until he gets the ball, by which time it’s too late. His attitude and lack of intensity compared with Wigan was chalk and cheese.
I reckon he has had the hard word from Arthur. Would not surprise me to see Roberts picked tomorrow.
I’m going to KR and will not be bothered if never see him again in a Leeds shirt. If he stays for next year he needs to get a hard long pre-season in the UK . I doubt he will fancy it

I just don't think, in retrospect, he was ever the style of player who would compliment our squad. Have seen him in play well in very good teams in the NRL. Teams who tended to physically dominate and control field position, which allowed him to play to his strengths. At Leeds we've needed big, athletic ball carriers to offset the crippling weakness of our welterweight pack. That's just not his game. If he goes the key thing is to find the player we do need, something we've been very poor at for too many years now.

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |

| If I was doing a list of pros and cons for Momorovski it would be this; Cons, too slow, not physical enough, drops too much ball, doesn’t fancy the big carries out of defence, misses some really easy tackles, prone to switching off. Pros, got a good leap on him in aerial contests. I think he’s maybe playing the wrong sport.

| IIRC from his first interview, Mom was originally signed for 2025 and it moved forward 12 month when Nene went AWOL. So it might be someone else who moves on, he gets a full preseason in and hopefully like many other Aussies, kicks on well.

Fair comment, at least Ryan hall will help with ball carrying next season.
I wince every time we send Edgell in to that job, particularly near our own line.

| Momirovski was the only new signing who didn't have an off-season with the club. He arrived coming off an injury (IIRC?) and had just got married in Australia before settling in Leeds. It's hardly surprising he's in the long list of Aussies who have had disappointing first seasons. Added to that, the guy who signed him left half way through the season and there's been no continuity in wing-centre partnerships on either side of the field all season.
The only outside backs who have come out of the season with any credit are Ash Handley, who has been at the club for years, and a couple of kids. Let's not forget how long it took Handley to establish himself, and many people on here were adamant he would not make it in his first seasons under Brian Mac.
What are Mom's positive attributes? He has good hands, and reads the game well. With a pacey wingman outside him and a destructive backrower on the inside he could be a vital link in a destructive attacking left side. If we are re-building the Murray team, he would be Brad Godden - not flashy, but the ideal winger's centre (sure, he's some way off Godden on this year's form, but the potential is there). He's good under the high ball, has a decent record getting over the try line when he's played, and has a good ability to be in the right place to secure the ball when Leeds are defending their own red zone.
I don't know if he's on the way out or not, but he's surely one that we might expect to be better after an Arthur pre-season.

We might expect him to be better next year but all the signals coming out of the club suggest he won't be here. Given the surgery (heart surgery) that needs performing on the pack, the fact that Arthur and Blease did not deny an interest in Rapana spoke volumes. Look, Mom is decent player but he is not in anyway Brad Godden. Godden wore the green and gold. Enough said.

| One of Murray's great strengths was his ability to bring the best out of what most regarded as a bunch of journeymen with a few gems in the mix (i.e. Morley and Harris). If Arthur is anything like Murray can we not hope that he will be able to turn around the fortunes of *some* of the players who are not performing, who have proven potential or pedigree? I appreciate that hope and optimism are in short supply on here, but still...
Fair enough if Mom is already on the way out. I don't think he by any means deserves to be the fall guy for a disappointing season, and we've given plenty of other lesser players more chances than he's had.

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| Quote: rugbyleague88 "Frawley is a problem if Leeds want to improve. His kicking game is horrific.'"
Agree. One of the major factors in our defeat last night was the difference in kicking games between the two teams. When you have a half back pairing with a kicking game as poor as ours you have a decision to make, and one of them has to go. It’s not gonna be Croft because he has the X factor in other departments, so it’s imperative we ditch Frawley. He can’t do a steepling bomb, he makes no ground with penalty kicks to touch, he always finds an opponents hands when he kicks long and his short kicking game is nothing special. It’s telling that the best kick to unlock a defence was from our departing 2nd rower who executed that deft and clever kick through to Momorovski late on at Elland Road. If Frawley stays in the team next season we deserve to fail.

| Not sure what happened with Nene but his actions seemed to cause a rift with other members of the playing group and coaching staff so we probably had no choice there.
I'm not a regular NRL watcher but several posters that are assured us that Mom would be better quality than Nene.
Bottom line is we need players who want to play for Leeds.
