Agree, the site is virtually unusable. You cannot quote other posts half the time, or when you do post, it doesn't look like it has posted, so click submit again, and end up with multiple posts. Even using Brave as the browser, which reduces the Ads, it doesn't prevent the issues mentioned above

Sorry that you are experiencing issues and we are aware of them and looking for solutions but you have to remember that the site is run and maintained by volunteers. The issues seem to be with our hosts on occasion and at times the site can be much faster.

Could we suggest that you try a couple of things;
1. Try a different browser if you can, Edge and Firefox (and I guess others) seem faster than Chrome.
2. While we are trying to solve the issues take an ad-free membership for a month or two (option in the banner at the top of the page).

We are in the process of a full site re-write but this takes a lot of resources, we are also looking at options to remove some adverts or at least speed up the loading. Without adverts or memberships then the site would not exist as our out of pocket expenses on hosting, software and insurance would mean that we would have to close the site down.

Please bear with us, we are working on improving the site.

Thanks for the feedback and appreciate the difficult circs. I am using edge and it's still poor. for the last week or so I cannot post without it crashing or duplicating. Ad free membership is a tad pricey at £5 a month... that's half way to a netflix subcription..

I use a VPN with a built in Netshield (Ads, trackers) and the site runs fine.

Whilst most of the time I cannot reply or quote.
The latest niggle is when I go back to the main page it directs me to the VT.
To stop it happening I have to go on a google search again for RL fans and find Southstander.
It is really annoying but glad it`s not just me!

I have just noticed this too. When you use the dropdown at the bottom of the page, no matter what you choose you end up on the VT.

FWIW I have subscribed recently and it runs much better.

How is the posting hanging issue now guys? We've put a couple of fixes in and hope that it is now resolved. We continue working hard to make the site more usable, please bear with us, it's not a quick fix.

The dropdown should be fixed now. Let us know if it isn't.
