Cam Smith looks so much better with decent half backs

Good hit out and result for team today. Lots of players did well against a decent HKR team. Was great to see Miller, Croft & Frawley linking up so well especially this early into season/ pre season. Cam Smith lead us well and was great will ball in hand. Ruan looked very good off bench as well could be a big year for him. The Mccormack brothers as well could have a big future ahead of them. Looking forward too season now hopefully it's a good one for us.

Anyone heard how Gannons doing?

No but he got his head on the wrong side of a tackle early on and I winced a bit. Hopefully he’s alright - he might not have been in the squad for Salford anyway.

I was really pleased with that. Takeaways for me were that Mik looks keen to have a good season, and we look so much more precise and direct with the new spine already.

Croft very good. Frawley as Christopher said just quietly guided the side around, but he’ll take the line on when needed too.

Miller needs to learn UK conditions: a boom 20 yard pass across the face of a gale wasn’t a great idea neither was a short and high drop out. Overall showed nice touches though. He doesn’t have long distance pace but he will make breaks.

Newman looked strong: in fact the conditioning across the side looked decent. Tom N-W looks to have some quality he just needs 10 kilos to play SL.

Saw Holroyd with the other players and he looks big upper body this year.

Yeah I’m hoping they just didn’t want to risk him today….

He doesn’t like the weather this time of year and to be Fair we don't want him getting chill blains.

Going OT briefly, Walters did his collarbone playing for the pies this aft. Could miss a few it would seem

Great entertainment ,all new signings did well ,Miller is fun to watch never quite sure he knows what he is going to do, Frawley guided team round the park well ,Coote in the right place at the right time Ackers is a very good hooker distribution quick and effect and defence organisation excellent.

Good to hear about Croft and Frawley going well and Croft getting a try.

They should make a big difference.

Last season, Austin scored 1 try and Sezer none. I doubt Leeds have ever had a half back pair mirror that low output in the history of the club.

Croft is a really good support player too.

I felt this was the kind of game Leeds could easily have lost last year. Feared the worst when our short kick off worked, only for us to produce a slack play the ball and then six again - try conceded.

Really liked the distribution from Ackers again.

Didn't make it today but good to hear that the likes of Ruan and TNW are making strides. Rohan didn’t rule any of the players who missed today out of the Salford game, so fingers crossed we might field a strong and experienced team. Had to chuckle when one of the press asked "how did you think Brodie Croft looked? Answer - "Like Brodie Croft - in a better looking jersey "

We really look quite different Clueso. That 9-6/7 looks miles better already and we have more quality in depth than last year across the park.

Add Momirovski, Holroyd, Lisone, McDonnell, Fus into the side from today and I reckon we’ll go alright. Whole standard seems higher.

We will lose a few I’m sure and Wigan probably the benchmark but I’m happy with what I’m seeing personally.

Agree. I've always been confident that this year's high profile signings would make a big difference, but the real closing of the gap will come with young players breaking through in significant numbers. For the first time in a decade I can now see a group (not just one or two) who could do it.
