| Personally I like it.
I wonder what Warrington will chuck out this year, similar colours and always have great looking kits.

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| What on earth has happened to our once great club ? Has it really come to this, turning out in a fake Leeds United shirt bought from Seacroft Market in the 1980’s. Rob Oates is a nice fella, but trumpeting this shirt because it’s “so different from last seasons “ sums up everything that is currently wrong at Headingley. What about a shirt that is blue and amber, remember those colours ? What about a shirt that is easily recognisable in historically correct, true colours that represents heritage and pride ( and I mean the old fashioned use of the word pride ). I’m not renewing our season tickets for the first time in over 20 years, due to the way Rugby League has deviated so far from the true game and style it once was. I’m 57, hardly ancient, but to see what the RFL and clubs have done to our once great game takes some swallowing. This cheap, Leeds United training top might appeal to some younger followers or someone works on the highways, but for me it’s the final nail in the coffin at Headingley. Jesus Christ.

| he's right in so much as the home kit should always be in your traditional colours, even though I don't mind the shirt. you mess about with the change kit.
or magic kit.
or red nose kit.
or centenary kit.
or whatever other excuse there is to fleece the fans

Top quality hyperbole right there.
Well done sir.

I agree about the home shirt. It should always be 'on brand'.
We've had one 'proper' Leeds kit in 4 years. all of those kits look like they are from a different club

86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |

| What "traditional" Leeds kit do you mean? The blue and yellow quarters (or even red and white hoops!) from pre NU days and the late 1890s? The all white from various periods pre WW2? Maybe the sky blue shirt/navy shorts during the 1930s? Or the light blue and amber hoops of the 20s? Or the dark blue with amber V worn by Lewis Jones and co in the 57 cup final? Or the "classic" irregular blue and amber hoops worn on and off from the 30s? Something more recent perhaps?
Its funny, because my least favourite kit ever was the quartered centenary one. But that was by far the closest to the original Leeds kit.
FWIW I quite like the look of the kit, and I thought the ad was pretty good too.

| I'm not a fan of the kit, but then again I wasn't a fan of the 2004 and 2007 versions. For some reason they both grew on me.

The one that Lewis Jones wore as he held aloft our first Champions trophy in 1961, the one that Syd Hynes wore as he held aloft trophies in the early 70’s, the one that David Ward wore as he held aloft trophies through into the 80’s, the one that Iestyn Harris wore as he hoisted the Challenge Cup aloft in 1999 and the one that Kevin Sinfield wore as he hoisted trophies aloft at the beginning of the golden era. You know the one. It’s disingenuous to say people regard anything else as our traditional kit, much like Leeds United’s traditional colours are an all white home kit a la Real Madrid and not the yellow/blue quarters pre Don Revie. I’ll tell you something now, if Leeds Utd tried playing in a mostly blue home kit, there would be riots. They will never resort to that because they’re not as desperate as us. The Leeds Utd fans understand history and heritage and would fight to protect it. They’ve had a few changes of badge but the home shirt is out of bounds. Rhinos fans will stand for the drop of York these days. By the way, if you’d be prepared to put that new shirt on your back I’d love to see what you wear down the pub on Friday night. I bet you’re fighting the ladies of with a dirty stick

| Its not disingenuous at all. Its funny. Especially because of your slightly unhinged rant. I was simply making the point that what you think of as "traditional" might not be to someone else - especially someone who understands the history of the club more than you obviously do. Someone older might argue that you are utterly wrong, that the kit they saw was the real thing and the irregular hoops was a monstrosity. Younger people might prefer the kit from the year they started watching which was different again. Nobody's wrong.
And by the way, getting personal makes you look like a child. The fact you think anyone should try to pick up wearing a replica kit at all speaks volumes of the class you'd aim for....See how this goes? Take a chill pill.

| Anything with a predominantly white main segment at the front is destined to get dirtied very very quickly, the 2022 home shirt was by far and away the best we've had for a while IMO.

2022 was nearly perfect just needed a white collar.
2018 strip was the best just ruined by using yellow not amber.
2015 wembley shirt was easily the best white shirt weve had
