Not a 13 imo.
Will go OK second row though..... Don't think we should keep him as starting centre for next year. Got good young options coming through now

| I personally wouldn't rush Newman back at all.
L Sutcliffee did a job at the end of last season, but personally I would have shipped him out ages ago.
When is Tetavano back?

| I think we will be desperate for the win, we were against Catalan but I think it went against us big time.
I just can`t see us having enough to turn you over unless we can significantly step up our attack near the line, be a lot smarter with our last tackle plays and stop switching off for 10/15 minute periods (A lot to fix up in a week!).
I think it will be close for 60 minutes, then Leeds to pull away by a 2 or 3 score margin in the end.

I agree. I see us winning as we are desperate for 2w of and key players back.
We're not as bad as our league position, yet I don't think you are either..,!

It is tempting to picture Konnie blasting holes in defences as an impact second rower similar to big Ali, but in reality I just don't think he is that type of player. In my view we either keep him as a centre or let him go and put his cap space towards a top stand off. I've always liked him, but unless Eastmond really hits the ball out of the park at six, I think he (Hurrell) will have to go. Also got to factor in that any top NRL half would be a lot more costly than Konnie.

So where would Walker and Myler both start? Why would we sign Eastmond to a 2 year contract when he didn't have a club if he wasn't intended to be our starting 6? I mentioned Newman in my original post. The only point I think a case can be made for is one of Walker or Myler starting at Fullback instead of Broadbent.

To repeat your response to me earlier in the thread CAN YOU NOT READ? I said Walker or Myler not both. Either would start at 1 ahead of Jack.
Eastmond was clearly signed after our starting 6 went down.
If Newman hadnt got injured he would clearly be starting.

I would expect him to make more metres and work harder than Martin....

Maybe he would make more metres, but it's a different world in the 2nd row to centre. Lot's of tackling (not his strong point) lot's of graft. Martin, whatever his faults, plays 80 minutes most weeks and doesn't miss many tackles. Just don't think Konnie has the engine for it. If we had a lot stronger team and a lot bigger salary cap it might be worth a shot, but I think we need to spend bigger in other positions to be top dogs again.

Fair enough. I'm just looking how to play things with what we have as we can't attract many quality players, and that's the,m reality.....

| Realistically I can’t see Konnie getting a gig back in NRL because of the weaknesses in his game and the huge amount of talent over there.
Leeds is probably a good fit for him at this point in his career. I’m not sure which other SL club would pay marquee money for him so, nicely, we make him a fair offer and let him make a decision. Worth quota spot but we do need to invest elsewhere.
Given his injury record, struggles with conditioning and errors at times he would need to take a view. I’d give him 2 more years.
I suspect the club will aim for some stability and try to retain most players. However we do have a chance to use cap and quota to really nail some problem positions.

| I could see Hurrell going to HKR as Hall`s centre.
Now that would be a pretty frightening proposition.
