| Quote: christopher "Maybe the Tony Gigot rumour may not be a bad shout, but would he be happy with being a back up?'"
And maybe Sinfield doesn't`t see Newman ready for first team action week in and week out.
Whilst I`m sure he is going to be an excellent prospect just like Walker some experience in the backs might be what is needed this year.
Without doubt Hurrel and Gigot if signed will get injured and miss a few and who better than Newman to step up.

I'd persevere with Newman tbh. Last season was his baptism of fire, no point back tracking with his development now that he's gained experience the hard way.

Newman is aiming for and England spot this year. I am sure been backup to an arrogant frenchy would go down well.

How can you have a "first past the post" champions when all teams don't play each other on a home and away basis? Surely this it should have been a top four or top five play off system?

Newman served his apprenticeship last year IMO, he's been given the number 3 shirt and it is his to lose and rightly so, I think he will go well this season as he will have learned a hell of a lot last season and will also be a year older physically.
I think he will be at least in the England train on squad next year.

Steady on there, they're our respected partners in Europe - for 6 more weeks at least.

Nothing wrong with competition Gotcha and if last season had anything to do with it he wasn`t the standout centre.
Granted he`s young and should be given a chance but having no competition for places isn`t going to push him on to achieve more similar to Walker I would say.

| Loui McConnell, Liam Whitton, Harvey Spence, Daniel Waite-Pullan, Tyler Dupree and Jarrod O’Connor playing for Featherstone Rovers on DR this weekend and Wellington Albert on loan for the season.
Expect the news on who’s joining Bradford Bulls on loan, but fully expecting Corey Johnson, Muizz Mustapha, Tom Holroyd and Sam Walters.

| Sounds like a strange mix of potential players, my hope is that this enables 1 or 2 to make it that otherwise would not have had further opportunities, like Loui McConnell and perhaps someone comes through the university route a la Keinhorst.

| Won 16-10 in horrible conditions. Muizz won it with a 90m try. Walters went off early with an ankle injury but its only a couple of weeks out by looks.
Toughed it out.
