| The stand will also attract depreciation though, which means if we make an operating profit we shouldn't have a tax bill for years either.

The people who think we will be opening the cheque book for new recruits i think they will be sadly disappointed.
The club had no choice , the building work had to be done and its looking fantastic but its going to be a huge burden on the club long after Gary Hetherington has gone im afraid.'" The North Stand will generate additional revenues which will comfortably pay for itself. The South Stand is largely being paid for in cash.
The club aims to overpay on the loan as well - the borrowing on this deal won't be around for 30+ years, for Leeds at least. We'll will wipe that off rather more quickly.
Caddick and Hetherington have never been afraid to pay transfer fees to sign players and there's no sign of that changing.

The building work was essential and the club had no choice but to think it wont have an impact on the clubs finances doesnt stack up to me. Sure new revenue streams will be generated but the new facilities will also take away from other areas such as the Lewis Jones Suite and the pavilion.
Its a huge sum of money to have to pay back for a RL team. Massive.
There is no bigger fan of Gary or Mr Caddick than myself for the way they have looked after the club they have both been absolutely magnificent for the club they have always run it as as a business and will continue to do so. They wouldnt have taken on this venture if they didnt think it was do-able but it will have an impact on the finances of the club for years to come.

I dread the day Gary retires and Mr Caddick isn't getting any younger

| Hello everyone, long time Rhinos fan and reader of this forum, don't have any agendas or issues with any clubs or players, just want rugby league to prosper.
On the finances and redevelopment of Headingley, it wouldn't make sense for a club like the Rhinos with their profile to have mediocre teams playing in front of poor crowds, sitting and standing in new grandstands...that wouldn't payoff the debt. So I have every hope that a policy of bringing through young players and marquee signings will continue.
Just to say I cut my rugby teeth at the Barley Mow watching Bramley, live in the Oakwood area in Leeds now, lived in Bramley many years ago.

I agree with this.
The issue Leeds have may well be putting bums of seats.
Leeds are going to need players to attract paying spectators, because so many of their games are on SKY, its easy for fans to stay at home/go to the pub to watch games.
If people are paying for SKY, a fair number resent paying twice to watch dross.

50 years a Rhino / Loiner...long may it go on!: |

| I harbour similar fears and remember only too well how near Wigan were to imploding after building a new stand, probably forcing a sale of the much loved Central Park.
THere needs to be a catalyst in bringing back spectators who have been effectively locked out this year.
Gary and Paul have done the hard yards getting us to this point. Maybe time to hand over to someone with flair and razzmatazz to fill the stadium and appeal to a wider audience.

| Corbyn and May could run the team and, as long as it was exciting to watch and successful, the punters would come. If, however, Corbyn and May were signed as stand off and hooker respectively I'm less sure they would.

It makes the muscles bigger not necessarily stronger. If anything the weight training can contribute to more injuries. The players are bigger than ever however the problem is that whilst their bodies are stronger than you or I, proportionate to their size they’re not. So they can pick up injuries more often than, say, the players of 20 years ago.

| JJB didn't try to excuse the performance vs Cas - "abysmal, upsetting, disappointing and embarrassing as well”. If he can admit that, why can't everyone?

| Currently living in Peru. Don't get to see much games. Was the magic game so bad. Not playing for a new contract then.
