He's just activated a 1 year option for next year at the Tigers (for $600k) and will be one of the hottest prospects on the market next year (Think he can begin negotiating from 1st Nov this year for 201icon_cool.gif. He'll be courted by almost every NRL club that can afford him.'"
Thanks for the update mate.
Yes a very good young play maker indeed along with a cracking good FB at Tigers too if I may add.

| Quote: William Eve "No offence intended here BUT...
How does he rebuild his stock in Super League?
That'd be like a Super League player attempting to rebuild his stock in the Championship or lower.'"
It is a well traveled route, especially recently. Soliola, Tai'i, Green, Williams, Masoe. All recent examples of players building or rebuilding stock for a return to the Nrl after coming over here at a young-ish age.
I take your point though it is perhaps less ideal than getting in someone's system and challenging for a start, like I said can't see many Nrl teams where that is an option, especially given how he left.

That may be so but it wont stop Segeyaro trying if the opportunity arises for him to return to the NRL.

Anyone know anymore about him?'"
Could have done with him at the start of the year. Might have been able to avoid the flooding at the training ground

| Quote: Barrie's Glass Eye "I think he will stay next year. I can't think of an Nrl team that needs a 9 right now (some have 2 or 3 first grade quality) apart from maybe the sharks with Ennis retiring. I think he'd be better off getting a full season under his belt, rebuilding his stock and showing he is healthy and hungry.'"
Newcastle, Cronulla and Parramatta need hookers. He'd be an improvement for Souths, St George and a few more besides. He's not going to be short of NRL interest so the only chance we have of keeping him is that he actively wants to stay in the UK.

If any NRL club wanted him for 2017 then why haven't they signed him up already? Surely back in May/June his agent was trying to find him a club for next year with him out of favour at Penrith. How many NRL clubs hang around until mid-August or later to decide to sign themselves a starting 9 for next year.

| from what i have been told
segeyaro has been totally honest with the club and our squads players for that matter throughout and has said all along that he wants to play at the highest level that he can, where ever that may be,but that he will always give a 100% commitment to his club and won't be treating his time over here as a holiday and that he absolutely loves the place especially the way that he has been looked after
imo he is far and away the best 9 in sl without a doubt and that he also loves being with us,so lets hope that we can keep him

Yeah, I'd say Tedesco is the best fullback in RL right now, and by a distance - he has everything.
I'm not a Tigers fan, but if they can keep Moses, Brooks and Tedesco together, it'll be a struggle to find a better 1,6,7 combo, then throw in some cracking young forwards like Woods and Sue and that could set them up for a dynasty not too dis-similar to what we've seen at Leeds.
Having said that, the Warriors appear to be favourites to sign Foran, so next year they'll have a spine of Luke, Foran, Johnson and Tuivasa-Sheck - WOW! And people seriously try and play down the gap between Super League and the NRL - the Warriors and Tigers are not even top 4 contenders, and both could easily miss the top 8 with spines like that.

Broncos and Cowboys and Melbourne have easily better spines than the Tigers, I would also argue the Sharks and Raiders do also
Brooks and Moses are pretty good but aren't really even pushing for Blues places atm
Tedesco however, I agree is the best fullback in the world atm
England are lucky he is out for the season, or the Aus back line would have been some combination of Tedesco GI Hayne Boyd Radradra, If Slater and Tedesco were fit it would have been arguably the best back line ever
Hopefully none can get Foran under the cap and we get him as a margue signing, though that is very unlikely
Its a weird signing for the Warriors as they could do far better by improving their front rowers instead of an already top spine

They do have better spines currently (don't agree about the Raiders though), but the point I was making is that the young Tigers spine and a few very good forwards have all graduated from their Juniors together, and have the potential to be around as a unit for over a decade - the same can't be said for the other teams.

The Tigers spine does look impressive like you say similar to Leeds all those years ago from players graduating up from the academy just like Tigers.
Penrith apparently have some good youngsters coming through too.
I have to say it is a pleasure to watch a number of the NRL games each week compared to the dross we serve up over here bar one or two exceptions.

Yeah, Penrith again have got a batch of young stars - Cartwright, Cleary and Moylan get most of the plaudits, but I really like the prop Leilani Latu... Big, quick, strong, runs great lines, good in defence and a ball player too.
Other than Leeds, I can't actually remember the last full Super League game I watched, the gulf in standards is alarming, and I think it's becoming even more evident with the youngsters coming through down there - our youngsters just don't seem anywhere near the same calibre, whether that be athletically or in terms of skill levels. Almost every NRL team seems to have 3 or 4 kids of around 20 years old that would be absolute superstars over here.

| Segs is as good as gone...latest reports from Oz are that at least 5 NRL clubs are chasing him. Let's hope Gawy is on the ball with this and is lining up a replacement.

| There's a young fullback for Canberra, yet to play first grade called Cotric. Absolutely destroyed England academy and looks the business, destined for big things.
