It is relegation in all but name though. We will have finished all 23 rounds of the regular season of playing each team twice in what is now the relegation zone and out of the subsequent elite competition. Who knows, if things continue we could very well finish bottom 2 which would have seen us relegated officially if it was a 2 down for next season system the RFL had gone for.Luckily we will have a relatively easy chance to rectify thing later in the summer but i would still see it as a season of relegation even if we manage to get back up the ladder of the trap door to start 2017 in SL.

| Leeds have always been in the Players off since they were introduced in 1998, only us and St Helens had that proud record till this year.
I love the confidence that we will been in the top four of the middle eight. I have only missed three games this year home and away and I am struggling to see us win again this season even against the likes of London, Batley and Leigh.
I wonder if GH will take a leaf out of Hull KR last year who refunded supporters after a performance away at Wigan. I can think of several games we should be refunded.

I am in same boat as you and have only missed 3 games and Agree on current form the middle 8's will be difficult. Hull kr, Salford and hudds have all beaten us. We have won 1/5 v those teams. Leigh and Bradford will be timing their seasons for peaking at middle 8's.
Let's hope we are doing same, lol.

A very long time ago, if at all. As far as I remember since the introduction of 2 divisions (early 60's?) Leeds have never been relegated form the top division. So approx 50 years since multiple divisions, how ever many years before that of one division. Can't remember what the structure was before that. War league?

Not certain but think only Leeds,Saints and Warrington have always played in top flight.

Semantics, perhaps, but it's not relegation unless we find ourselves in a lower division next season (which won't happen).'"
I don't know if it's semantics either but if the SL regular rounds finished in 2015 in any meaningful way at 23 why was the presentation of the League Leaders Shield delayed until after round 30 with what appeared to be a League table comprising all the results from the top eight teams including their final seven fixtures and why was the LLS in a helicopter with Blake Solly on route to Wigan if Leeds had already finished top two month earlier.
I genuinely don't know the official line on this but carrying forward the results from the opening 23 rounds implies they carry the same value and status as the final 7 fixtures.

| I suspect you have to go right back to the start of RL to find Leeds not in the top flight, as they weren't invited into the top tier until a year or so after 1895. Meanwhile there are other records to chase if we continue like this to the end of the season:
- worst ever win/loss ratio in all games (currently 19% vs 27% in 1899-1900
- lowest average points for since 1982-83 (1980-81 if you adjust for 4-point tries)
- highest average points against since 1996
- lowest top tryscorer since 1996 (if somebody gets to 13 - could be since 1943 if nobody gets past 9)
- probably lowest top goalscorer since 1991-92 or thereabouts
But don't worry, there's no crisis, everyone's working hard.

| Leeds and Saints are the only two teams to have contested in every Super League Play-offs.
Guess that'll just be Saints by the end of this year then?

This is pretty impressive record setting. Usually only see something like this happen to a club if they've got two sets of books to beat the cap or they've gone into receivership.
For Leeds to accomplish all this while still being under the cap and making an operating profit is quite an achievement.
