We haven't lost a non-televised CC game for quite a long time. I think I know when it is but I'll leave others to try and work it out.

The Cas game was televised. I seem to remember being in some crappy club bar after playing Saturday afternoon watching us lose.

probably right.
In that case i would say Bradford in probably 91 or if not the prelim round of 89 when they bundled us out. I remember being at the early defeat to Saints in 92 i think, and that was definitely a TV game. After that we have an excellent record of reaching at least the Semis or beyond which are always TV games.

| The 1998 defeat at home to Castleford was definitely televised, it was Graham Murray's debut as Leeds coach and IIRC he started and ended with televised home defeats to Cas.
Like this question. Leeds have a great record of reaching minimum of CC-SF which ensures the TV cameras.

| Correct, picture the scene - Leeds leading 12-9, 80 minutes up on the clock, Cas on the attack going nowhere much, Adrian Vowles from dummy half launches a bomb left to right, three Leeds players with a chance to jump, catch, knock it dead anything really all outjumped by Cas second rower Andrew Schick to score the winner - with no doubt Ray French declaring "it's there" or something similar.
The only disappointment was the result though - it was a totally committed, aggressive show the shape of things to come under a fantastic coach.

8th Feb '92 Leeds 12 - 32 St Helens (Bobbie Goulding two drop goals for Leeds) - glad you've illiminated that game as this was my first possibility but would have had to search further and don't really have the time at present - can't remember the game without reference to scrapbooks.
24th Feb '91 Bradford 5 - 0 Leeds - As above really despite the great Eddie Rombo playing.
If not it's got to be the preliminary round (14th Jan '90 Leeds 8 - 24 Bradford) - I think you've nailed this one, congrats.

That's what I reckon is the right answer 1991 (checking on the Radio Tines archive website, they only televised the Saturday game the day before)

I think that's about where I started watching, knew Vowles was involved somehow. Why can I remember that and absolutely nothing about the game I actually played in? Don't think I was concussed.
Ray French would surely have said - "He's going for that line" or "He's over that line".

| Was puzzled by sky's choice of game tonight. Thought hudds Leeds would be nailed on and I know I am biased but would much rather that than this game seemed a strange decision. But it's clear to me the only reason this is on is john kear obviously agreed to this gimic of having a coach miked up

| Bloody typical ain't it, when game is on sky they have that annoying split screen to the other game being played, tonight when you actually want it it's not there.

| I think both the BBC and SKY would have justified themselves by not showing another defeat for their baby
shame it wasn't on tv i'd love to see some of those fantastic tries again
