| If everyone is fit in 19
Then the team will probably be
Hardaker
Golding
Watkins
Keinhorst
Handley
Sutcliffe
Lilley
Galloway
Burrow
Garbutt
Ferres
Walters
JJB
Subs
Cuthbertson
Singleton
Achurch
Mullally
But it is quite harsh on L.Briscoe because last week I thought he was OK Achurch shouldn't get back in but we know he will
Also this won't happen but another option for us could be zak at 6 and keep Golding at full back and Sutcliffe off the bench but if Golding struggles then we could just put Zak there.

Yes, Kirke was always a solid defender and was good at slowing the PTB down when he was involved in a tackle....people just couldn't see past his carries totals. If you watch some of his GF showings, particularly 2012 you'd see him do around 55 mins and provide a very solid base in the middle in defence.
Jamie Peacock spoke very highly of his performance in that 2012 GF and if it's good enough for Peacock then it's good enough for me.

Tough one.
I have to say, i did have some sympathy for Achurch up to the start of the year with his rotten luck with injuries and never getting a decent run. The more he plays this year though putting in one Turgid half Ass'd effort after another my sympathy is waning. I would rather we just left him out and let him see out his contract from now, i don't see why he is still getting selected to be honest now players are returning, i would rather see young Smith get game time, at least he is willing to put his hand up and get stuck in.

| Literally anyone should play over Achurch. He's not adding anything to the team and he's leaving at the end of the year, so it's not like we need to invest game time in him to play himself into form or whatever.
I also think Singo should get a week off in favour of Baldwinson, Singletons form since dropping to the bench has been pretty bad.

Alan Rathbone contributed more during his Leeds career than Big Mitch.

| I defended Kirke's contributions over the seasons as I could see what he offered the team, albeit not the supporters.
In Achurch I can see nothing, beyond the occassional halfbreak and offload, but too few and far between to be noteworthy

I think that's part of the problem though, every so often he has something that none of our other second row options offer. But it just doesn't happen often enough, add in the lack of willingness to graft and the injuries, not to mention supposed salary and it's easy to see why fans are fed up.

Exactly, he has the all the physical tools to be Lauititi MK2 but he doesn't seem to be able to use any of them. I've defended him in the past as he has been unlucky with injuries and played at prop which doesn't seem to suit him but some of his performances this year have been diabolical. He gives off the attitude of a man who is just looking to get through the season unscathed.
Quote: Barrie's Glass Eye "Weren't looking particularly for Achurch when counting Golding's tackles for another thread but did spot one attempted carry. Unfortunately the pass was behind him and he knocked on when reaching back to drag it in - so nearly made one carry. As I say though I weren't checking on Achurch and haven't reviewed any of the second half including his cameo.'"
Thanks for that. I thought he didn't play on Friday until I looked at the stats for the game, he did make one error which was probably the knock on you spotted.

Is it a coincidence that Achurch is not only in business with Kirke but Kirke is now on the coaching staff?
Our players will look "buff" and "hench" in their instagram pics but will turn into a bunch of bottle-less gets.

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| I'll be there tomorrow, but can't help thinking I could suffer the same amount of pain far easier. A short trip to Holbeck to be strung upside down by someone called Maya or Monika who speak little English but will beat my buttocks till I scream. Still, I've got my ticket for tomorrow, Maya and Monika may have to wait till the Warrington away fixture.

| I guess Kirke usually put in some defensive work to (partially) offset his lack of carries.
Its funny how coaches seem to have blindspots with respect to certain players. Especially odd if Achurch is picked over say Baldwinson when the club have let him go at the end of the year.
