I thought he did a good job at hooker for us when he had the chance, much better than Robbie Ward.

I agree. Good player when fit and a run of games under his belt.

I too thought he did well. Quick out of dummy half and not afraid to run forward. But with the players we have fit (golding, Sutcliffe, lilley, burrow, falloon) as well as his lack of fitness/super league games I suggest that be the spine and Briscoe to the wing. Maybe his older brother could give him a few tips.
On another note, looking forward to seeing the much hyped cam smith make his debut.

It all depends on squad fitness, because we seem to be having to reach deeper and deeper into the pot.
Yes, Cam Smith making his debut is a highlight if it happens. Excellent young talent with bags of potential for the future. Fingers crossed we see a Star born.

Definitely early doors, I agree. It will help his development though.

Absolutely i just think he & some have found the step up to u19's harder than they expected especially against the bigger packs & well organised defences.

icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg |

| How does Smith get in before Baldwinson - he needs to find a new coach to play for - McDermott obviously has no faith

| I remember being more impressed with Briscoe than R Ward when they both got a run at hooker the other year. A game against Catalan when we wore the all yellow strip springs to mind. He also has the added versatility of being able to play pretty much anywhere. As a stopgap I'd rather him get another chance than go scrounging for an Aussie as us and others have done in the past.
Falloon isn't in the 19 so I'd think we'd be looking at a team like chapylads above but with Walters on the bench. Maybe swap Briscoe and Watkins around.

He should have got a run by now imo. Its not like we are ripping it up and everyone is fit, if they were you could understand it.

Think you are off the spot there Mark. The club have specifically instructed him what he can and can't do, restricting his game time in the academy, and working on him in the gym. I actually spoke to him before the Salford game, and he had no nerves at all about the step up. Infact I can say that having spoken with a few of the ex Oulton boys in the under 19, who train with the first team each week each of them think they are handling it easier than thought.
Cameron is a particularly good organizer also, which is something badly missing in our first team. That said, I still don't think you will see him making his debut.

| I wonder how much similarity there will be between tomorrow's team & the one selected for the Cup Game?
