Gonna agree with gotcha regarding sutcliffe don't think he has ever been the real deal. And really struggling to see a spot for him in the team going forward. Simply not good enough.

Not 'spoilt' ...Many expected and were willing to accept a transitional period. Trophies not expected (at least not until and especially when we could see how pish poor the overall standards in SL are this season).
It's the sharp angled decline that is alarming. Rudderless, clueless and devoid of any ideas/structure/bite in defence.

On present performances can't disagree.....but I remember deliberations about how was the better future SO: Sutcliffe or Williams. Sucliffe was playing well up until his injury.

| Well if super league is so pish poor now what does that make leeds? You're right about standards though but last season was just as bad made clear by an average leeds side doing the treble and hardaker being the ruddy man of steel

| I do not think Mac has become a bad coach overnight, however whatever he's doing clearly isn't working. (Players take some responsibility for that too).
I do think coaches only have a certain lifespan where they are effective before they need replacing with a new voice and fresh ideas otherwise a team can plateau.
I think we saw this happen with Bluey, a couple of good years, then we limped through a season and he was quickly replaced with Mac. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened here.

First of all, your spelling and grammar is appalling, secondly what is becoming ever more apparent is that our ‘coach’ may not have had as much influence over his charges as your ‘traditional’ coach usually does.
We have gone from being a Triple winning team to a side that can’t even master the basics of Rugby League in a matter of a few months. The difference being the loss of a couple of key players. NOTHING ELSE HAS CHANGED!!
What we need is a coach that can actually coach and not a man that turns up to do the post match interviews and give the occasional inspirational speech to his players.

Can anyone truthfully say that Sutcliffe has shown anything to suggest he is better than Gaskell was in his first full year at Saints? Then look what happened there, Saints used their head and could see the shortages to his game.'"
Thank god. I thought only I believed sutty was over rated. I don't want to overly bash a young kid who I'm sure is trying his best but he is so far out of his depth is silly.
Is McD to blame, yes in some ways as he keeps picking him but what are his other options right now? Sacking McD will not alter our situation at all.

Has he ever been that good a coach? his finishes are 5th 5th 3rd 6th 1st and it looks like we will be out the top 4 again, we always have a period like this in a season and it is usually up to the players to turn around our form mid game, he always has a problem turning around our form.
Bluey getting sacked for me was an over reaction and he was probably the coach that I enjoyed watching us play under most (maybe the first 2 years of TS), we played good rugby and were consistant, being as good in regular season games as playoffs. 2010 we were trying a new system of playing right at the line and the players imo didnt get long enough to get used to it, when we played a more direct game at the end of the year we probably would have won the GF if Mcguire hadnt gotten injured.

Problem is he would've gotten slagged off if he didn't give "first dibs" to Sutcliffe anyway because too many are obsessed with having academy lads play. Recall many who wanted us to go with Sutcliffe over signing Widdop around 12 months ago.
I'm another who has never got the deal about Sutcliffe and he shouldn't be playing loose either as that should be a big forward.
