| Quote: NickyKiss "I think got we were pretty average tonight yet it still probably should have been more which sums up the Leeds performance really. I've seen injuries mentioned as a reason behind the defeat tonight but to my reckoning we had 5 of our first 17 missing compared to Leeds 6 (at best). I would also say that we had more crucial players missing with three of our five starting pivots out (Tomkins, Williams and McIlorum) in comparison to Leeds one (McGuire).
I'm sure you'll bounce back but that was poor.'"
Too right Nicky, you seem a more polite poster than you were a player.
Not sure there is a quick cure for having some players with rocks in their heads and some who look like they are pulling a fridge. I think Wigan were average and as you say missed 1,6 and 9 but were far too fit, strong and quick and organised.

It was very poor but a marginally better performance than last week against Huddersfield.
Luckily, Silverwood put in a decent performance for them.

| The big question for Leeds to answer is can you find some leaders to replace Sinfield and Peacock. There's lots of quality to come back in and the 17 will be strong again but it may find itself in that backs to the wall position that Leeds have done on many occasions over the years. The difference to my mind is that when you did in the past those two pulled it all together and forged a spirit that took you to some great moments.
I don't see that them jumping out at me but maybe I'm wrong. I thought Cuthbertson looked like he's trying to take Peacocks mantle on tonight but he's more of a free spirit. There seems to be an awful weight on McGuires shoulders and he's a very emotional player.

| Quote: Vespid_Wire "You've been woeful so far. Worse than we were last year. No passion for the Leeds shirt and no effort in defence, you're missing leaders big-time.
If only there was a 33 year old Aussie halfback, renowned for his leadership, that was available to come over and play in Super League..
And therein lies the problem over here. Pack your teams with overage, oversea,s overpaid Antipodean players. What did Wigan do, give a young academy player his debut. Leeds 5 overseas players Wigan 2.

| Quote: Mark Laurie "Wigan were far stronger, fitter and faster than us. Agree with printer we had to do too much work in first half but think our problems are deeper than that. The difference in pace between the 2 sides was alarming. We have too many players who are genuinely one paced/slow. Game was very similar to n q Cowboys. They were too big and quick for us and we ran out of gas. Our attack was utterly clueless. I would be surprised if Leeds beat Wigan this season. They were missing Tomkins and Williams and mcilorum. Powell is average at best and they bombed chances on left edge in first half but still murdered us. Just got home from Wigan so this posting is a bit raw. Danny McGuire will help but can't do it on his own. Some of the brain dead options early in tackle count were horrendous. Will try and end on a positive, good to see falloon and jjb looking decent. I am hoping this is a post wcc, Catalan tired spell. However, think we need a real reaction in next 2 weeks or any hope of top 4 is gone.'"
Said it a couple of weeks ago, we dont look fit enough.
No idea what we did in pre-season, look tired in defence, and no one is in sync in attack, absolutely shocking
If they dont buck their ideas up a top four finish will be out of reach before the magic weekend

Your halves were SOL and Smith. Compared to Sutcliffe and Lilley? Come on, we need a stand off plus McGuire. You were missing McIlorum yes, but Falloon was on the bench and was making his debut coming back from injury. We looked better when he came on. Also, the defensive work Ablett, Ward and Delaney get through is unbelievable. They were badly missed. Moon in defence and attack is a huge miss. Briscoe is miles better than Handley.

| I think we had some missing so did Wigan. Don't see it as an issue we have a professional squad we had a team that should have done better than it did. It's not about who's got the worse injuries. We got completely outplayed. The players should be embarrassed

| I agree Ferdy, if Wigan were sharper in the first half it could have been another 40 plus defeat. No complaints from me, Wigan too good all over the park. Until we get the collision sorted we will continue to struggle imo.glad to see JJB and Falloon back though.Things can only get better from here, massive game at home to Saints we need the two points badly.

When are we gonna win the bloody Championship?: |

This is spot on in my view. Said the very same to a mate last
night. The expectation on/of DM is already building to be unfair. He is crucial
to our team but he was only 3rd (at best) in command
last year. At least 2 others need to start showing up in that regard to replace
his role and the other place in the leadership triumvirate.
What is clear to me is that Burrow isn't one of them and the
2 young halves tonight weren't at the races tonight unfortunately. Think
Sutcliffe had a real nightmare to be fair.
We looked shattered after about 10minutes maximum. The
pack is way off the pace at the moment although it was
clear they were all trying. Too many stupid decisions to offload
and too many penalties or errors. Fatigue won't have
helped. We did well to still be in it at half time on the scoreboard
but the writing was already on the wall.
Achurch did ok.
Singleton needs to stop trying to smash everyone into next week and
just concentrate in making the hit first time.
Someone needs to show Garbutt how to play the ball.
Kicking game was shocking.
Good to see falloon - think he'll be good for us.
Great to have JJB back - hopefully he'll be the pack leader for us.

Woops, someone missed the joke.
I was directly referring to Kurt Gidley, who was slated by many a Leeds fan when we announced the signing for being all those things you just said.
Sadly for them, and you, he's looking like a class act at the minute and is in terrific knick for an "overaged" Aussie.

Too right. However, sun is shining, had a nice breakfast and off to walk the dog. Being generous, perhaps losing kirks tall is a big factor. Being optimistic, perhaps this is all a cunning master plan to peak at end of year. Watching n q Cowboys on telly , they are struggling. We must have worn them out, lol

Great signing for you and maybe, just maybe could take you to that elusive championship if you can get past Wigan. You should have too much for the rest.

| Im sick of people blaming the injuries or lack of experience in the halves or whatever.
The fact is that the team is DRASTICALLY under performing in terms of skill and effort.
The Gelling try from a tap penalty was one of the most embarrassing bits of defence I have ever seen, absolutely pathetic, they should be made to watch that on repeat for a hour as punishment.
Mac also needs to instil some pride in the shirt, we're performing the way Salford did last year and that is unacceptable.
