| Quote: Biff Tannen "We did manage to pick up 3 pieces of silverware with Burrow at 9 so not quite sure he will be that big of a miss.'"
Just to make my comment clearer.
I was repsonding to hearing Faloon would most likely miss the game stating he will be a big miss.
I went on to say what I thought would happen on the night without actually linking the 2 together Biff.
Even with Faloon playing I might well have said Wire by 16 which to be honest is what I was thinking anyway.
Hope that clears it up?

This week: Four keys to a Rhinos win in the WCC:Transparent Backgrounds/Waldorf.gif |
|
| If Warrington line up as they did against Leigh, Leeds need to take them on down the middle. The drop off between their starting middle unit (Hill, Clark, Sims, Westwood) and what's to potentially come off the bench (Cox, Dwyer, Westerman, Philbin) is pretty significant.
Would imagine they will want to keep that starting front row on for as long as they can, so keep going back at them and taking some energy out of their legs early on. Might not be the most attractive way to win a game, but it's likely to be more effective than throwing the ball around and turning it over early in the tackle count. One of the reasons I'd start with three recognised props.

| The backs pick themselves really though I would start with sutty. He needs to get his confidence back quickly and faith in him to do it might help.
Galloway
Faloon/Burrow
Singleton
Ferres
Ablett
Cuthbertson
Burrow/lilley,garbutt,Delaney,keinhorst.
When Delaney comes on at LF move Cuthbertson to prop.
I would try hammer them down the middle early then start trying to get to Watkins and moon in space if it opens up.
The offload game, especially in the middle of the park is important,it will really help with tiring them out.

I see it like this. I think Wire will try and play an expansive game from the start due to a weakened bench. It has worked for them a few times recently at our place where they have started like a house on fire and we have been left chasing the game for an hour. Hopefully we can wear them down, and at the right times bring our superior back line into the game.

I suspect Lilley is still viewed as a bit raw. How our kicking game in open play and for goal fares against how Sandow and Gidley go for wire could well be key. If Lilley was due to play v wire he would have not been in v Fev. I agree his game time this year will depend largely on whether our kicking game is functioning well. If so he can be brought on a bit more gradually. The next 2 games are about building to wcc. I expect The more experienced players will play in next 3 games unless injuries happen.

| No need to apologise Biff. I can see how it might have looked.
As for Ploinerrhino I just have a feeling their half backs will outplay ours which could nulify our backs.
The forwards are evenly matched and possibly we might find ourselves having to put in too many tackles if we let them dominate in the front row and their hookers get quick PTB.
I have no insight or crystal ball just a feeling.
Bet I would get decent odds on Wire with 16 though.

| Can't wait for Thursday now. Looks a good Wire side that.
As mentioned by other posters, we need to be strong down the middle. Man for Man, Wire's starting pack is up there with the best in the league. Where we can gain advantage is off the bench. If the bench players can make a big impact, it gives Burrow more to play with the extra gaps being made available.
Going for a very close Leeds win, but would not be shocked to see Wire win by up to 10 due to ring rust etc.
