| Quote: Him "Spot on Juan. He's an excellent squad player the likes of which most clubs don't have.
To have a mature second row/centre ie not a young lad, who can play to a good level is a luxury most clubs can't afford. If he's happy playing most of his games for Hunslet but 10 or so a year for Leeds he's invaluable.'"
Think you're underestimating his last few performances. For me they've been as good as JJB recently and if he'd been put on earlier yesterday his efforts may have helped stop the game becoming so close/nervous?

| As a centre, he never did much to make me impressed, but as a second row I think he's been a different player. If him and Ward can stay injury free, I think they will form and excellent back row partnership for years to come.

Played there all year for hunslet when he played there I believe. If he hadn't I very much doubt we would have utilised him there, I am a massive fan of his, a player we can trust to do a job IMO and a player very highly rated by other players, I was constantly told if he was at any other team barring Leeds he would be in the 17 every week.

| Given the injuries to ward and JJB there is a fair chance for Walters and Keinhorst at the start of next season to really establish themselves in the 17.

| Keinhorst is a really good player to have in our squad - he's a good footballer, can cover a number of positions and seems to have a great attitude. But is he ever going to be a regular starting second-row for us? I wouldn't have thought so.
Walters was very promising in 2014 but went backwards this year, then had an amazing moment at Old Trafford. Realistically, Keinhorst and Walters were 6th and 7th choice second-rows for us this year behind Ablett, Ward, Delaney, JJB and Achurch. Keinhorst moved above Achurch to 5th during the season. JJB's injury moves them up a spot for the beginning of next year, but if Westerman signs (and there's not much doubt he's a better player than either of them) they slip back down again. Not sure how much of a future I see for Walters at Leeds in that case.

| Walters is young enough for the GF to change him permanently for the better though. If that experience makes him want more, he'll work hard to get back into the squad. Even if he doesn't, what a great career highlight to have.

| Under the new format teams are going to have to rotate their squad more than before as there are just too many matches particularly for those that go all the way in the Cup and league. So strength in depth is going to be very important to maintain success.
Keinhorst is a great and reliable asset in this respect and IMO should be given plenty of game time next year which can only assist his continued development. He has a very similar build to Bateman (same height and less than a stone lighter) and with the reduced interchanges coming there will be opportunities for lighter and faster backrowers who can play the full 80 and cover in the centres.

| He will probably start against the Kiwis in the centres with Watkins, Hardaker and Hall all missing.

| When Walters and Keinhorst came on you got the impression that they were sent out to tackle anything that moves! The lads were out of their feet at times, we were desperate and they did a cracking job. I'm not sure what the future holds for Walters but certainly Jimmy has got a big future in the back row. We've seen the lines he runs and the hard tackles he can put in but what else we saw in the GF was some passing skills, something which Delaney and Ablett are not the best had. He did a lovely cut out pass to Hall on the wing, seems simple but its a rare thing from a Leeds back rower. He also showed great composure to pop the ball he Walters. Many inexperienced players would have had a brain fart and balls'd it up.

Or Ablett's. I see more similarity there than with Ward, tbh.

I'll tell you this now, of all the sportsmen I have ever seen, this guy is the most impressive. Clare Balding 6/10/12:37727.jpg |

Walters earlier this year admitted to struggling to find form after a decision was made to put several more kilos bulk on him during the last close season, a deliberate attempt by the club to give him a greater physical presence and longevity in the game. I personally hope both he and Keinhorst kick on from Saturday, as they both had a massive part in the victory.

| Keinhorst has been great this season. I really rate him. I think he'll be a regular in the 17 next season.
I like Walters' attitude. He needs to get more energy though.

| I hold my hands up and admit i didn't see a future with us first half of this year and expected him to leave and join Wakey at the end of the season. He hasn't moaned though over the last few years as he has been used very sparingly and farmed off to Hunslet or Wakey on loan but its clear to see he has spent that time improving his game and this second half of the year it has paid dividends for him as he looks a different player. With a good off season bulking up a bit more he could become even better over the next 18 months 2 years, a real success story and great advert for working hard and sticking with something to achieve a goal.I'm really happy for him too because he seems a quality bloke with a great attitude.

| I think a few of us on here made the point about Walters trying to put on too much size too quickly in the off-season, and it certainly seemed to affect the footwork and mobility that was a key part of his game. He's never going to be the size or physical challenge of a Joel Tomkins, but there's a Liam Farrell style player in there.
Ideally for Keinhorst, he could do with Leeds deciding where they want him to play and let him do the gym work required to get there. At the moment, he looks a bit like a centre playing in the second row. He's reliant on his mobility and workrate to make an impact, because again he's not going to smash people out of the way. When you're running with three props on the field, you can probably carry lighter, more mobile second rows as you don't need them to do the donkey work.
